No points, but a cheap flight- :D

AUD $155 o/w includes airport taxes, surcharges and fees. They do note that it's subject to exchange rate fluctuations.

Travel is from 24/06/08 to 11/01/2009

I had a quick look - best I could find was a $172 fare which excludes the taxes and charges - converts to $589 round trip. There's also their XL class (like jetstar starclass), which is $1029 total for the round trip.

Anyone flown Air Asia - is it worth considering?

Sounds expensive (I just flew SIN-MEL on TR for AUD 155). Instead of spending $600 on Air Asia, I would look for a cheap flight on one of the legacy carriers such as MH. It will cost you more, but probably worth it IMHO.

But that's just me.

Air Asia said they would annouce which Melbourne base (Tullamarine or Avalon) at the Grand Prix, only 3 days to go, so an announcent will be made quite soon. They said they will launch fares at the same time as well, from articles i have browsed. I Live 10mins away from Avalon, and in our local paper it said, the earliest that Avalon can get the terminal ready for International Flight was Q1,2009 sometime, and it said nothing about AirAsia, mainly Jetstar International.

My guess is that they will be using Tulla, and i think that this would be a far better option and definatly loads will be full if its from Tulla!!

Hoping the $99 one way launch fares again!!!!, we should find out on Wed,Thur or Fri, seing the whole AirAsia crew (ceo etc) will be down in Melbourne tommorow:D
