I recently flew Air Asia X from KUL-SYD in their Premium Seat.
Cost $800

Absolutely outstanding.

I would not fly their Y product long haul, but their Premium (Business) seats are lie-flat and very, very comfortable. These are the real-deal LCC Business seats; far, far better than the JetStar A330 Starclass offering.

Wow. Looks like Air Asia now flying out of Adelaide from October - yahoo. We have flown Air Asia in Thailand and have another couple of trips booked with them later this year. Best LCC we have used.

Premium is $540 each way

I'm with you. D7 Y class is horrible. Much worse than AK. Why is that?

How bad is it? I'm pretty sure I'll suck it up for $99. That is the best Asia deal I have seen from Australia.

I am hoping that it shakes the international carriers up a bit out of Adelaide...

Would love them to come out of Cairns. We've just lost China Eastern, just Cathay left now :(

Yeah in April i think. They say its because they havnt got a steady supply of aircraft to make the route viable, so it is only on hold until November by when things may have changed for them, however i would be surprised if they returned. United to Guam, Cathay to HK and Jetstar to NZ and Singapore and Air NZ to NZ is all thats left.

Pretty poor for an internationally recognized tourist area.

Doesn't the Jetstar flight go to Darwin these days and not Singapore?

yeah stops by in Darwin, but continues to SIN. Losing JAL was major back in 2011.

Has anyone flown ADL - KUL - ADL and wants to report? Similarly ADL - SIN - ADL and ADL - DPS - ADL, both via KUL.

I'm very interested in hearing about on-time performance and comparisons with SQ, VA and Malaysian Airlines economy. Pricing is hard to beat.

How is the fly-thru transit service in KUL? Is the auto-transfer of checked baggage in KUL reliable?

What do folks think about Premium class?

Timing out of ADL is certainly attractive (late morning departure) but the overnight redeye out of KUL is not so pretty. That's the flight tailored for the Premium lie-flat seat I guess.
