Warning for all that Agoda is scamming its customers.

I booked 2 hotels each was about 550ish euro. Cost should have been around $800.
I booked in AUD the other in Euro
Both with pay at date close to the use.
Agoda charged me around $910ish each for them. I managed to get the first one fixed but they are saying the second was done at their exchange rates and are refusing to fix it.

I'm also going to lodge a complaint with the ACCC. They just got $44m from Trivago so I'm sure they would like some more from Agoda.

I've had different issues with Agoda, to the point that I avoid them unless they are definitely the only option, even paying more for other agents.

I've had this issue with Agoda in the past.

If you book a hotel in a rate other than AUD and pay closer to the time they quote you a rate in AUD but the fine print mentions you will be billed in the hotel's currency and Agoda will convert to AUD at their own exchange rate.

A number of years ago I had multiple single night bookings in Thailand of around AUD75/night but found they were charging me close to AUD80/night for each one.

I'd only lost around AUD50 at the time and Agoda would not budge. I cancelled all other bookings and rebooked to pay at time of booking.

Agoda customer service is awful. Most of their promotions have issues and I now prepay all my Agoda bookings using Afterpay.

By the way Agoda has quite a few glitches to get cheaper rates via aggregator links. I've got 8 nights coming up and saved ~AUD15/night from Agodas advertised rate.
