As you would know by now, over the last weekend there was a major upgrade of the vBulletin software (which powers AFF).
As I explained in an earlier post, the change was pretty much forced on us by vBulletin, as they have discontinued their "old" forum software, and introduced a complete new version.
The "old" software would ultimately become unsupported, so it was important that we did the upgrade. Unfortunately, the new version uses a completely different template structure so we did have to change the "look and feel" as well.
Its impossible to please everyone, but we have tried to create a clean, and easy to use look. Like anything else, this change may take a bit of time to get used to.
There also does seem to be some user-interface bugs in the new version of the software. This is more noticeable in older browsers. Hopefully, these bugs will be corrected by vBulletin in future releases.
The new software does have some useful new features. One example is that it provides all registered members with the ability to create and publish Blogs on AFF which are integrated with the rest of the site. The Blog feature has been activated, other new features will be activated soon.
AFF is now best viewed in the latest versions of all major browsers:
- IE 8
- FireFox 3.6
- Safari 4
- Chrome 4
etc
If you are experiencing problems in the way the site looks or functions on your computer, please consider upgrading to the latest version of your chosen browser. Its probably a good idea to do this anyway
