AFF Membership levels

It would, however, be nice if it were possible to have peoples loyalty memberships displayed with the messages, rather than having to go into the users information to see what their levels are. This is a piece of information that I find useful in understanding someones experience with a particular program. Even the software, by having an information field for memberships, respects that this is strictly not "signature type information". My suggestion for an improvement: include the membership information with the posts.

Here I disagree. The signature is a fair enough place for it since viewing of signatures can be disabled whilst viewing of biographical information is mandatory. If people really want to have a signature, then a silver/gold membership is available

I think it is quite easy to tell who has useful knowledge in a programme without having it displayed with every post.

I agree. This info is shown on FT to the side of posted messages and is helpful. :-|

The information about a person's memberships can be seen ( if populated by the user ) by clicking on the user and using "view public profile"

Our programmer looked at it overnight. It turned out to be a pretty simple modification to the standard Discussion Board code.

I have not joined up as there is no value for me. My job provides me with travel insurance and I fly mostly for business so I rarely spend time trying to find award flights and therefore don't need the software.

Same here (apart from the fact that the software would not run on any of my machines)

As for the ads, I am using a tweak on my PC that blocks those annoying Google ads no matter what website I visit, so the only ones I see are here are AFF's own ads. Like most internet advertising, I tend to not even notice it after the first sighting.

I really don't mind some ads but I just noticed that I use the site far less than I used to last year. I used to screen most discussions as it was *fun* but... the design has changed and I find the new navigation strategy quite confusing; content is increasingly difficult to locate among the ads; postings are still presented in such a way that readers get the impression ads were part of the original posting and thus endorsed by the poster, etc. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy coming along every now and then though

Whatever comes past this line IS NOT part of this posting
