Has anyone thought to make an AFF sticker that goes onto the back of your laptop's display? To me this seems to be a good way of AFFers spotting each other in a Lounge. Just check out the back of laptop displays in the lounge for the AFF logo.

Is there a higher resolution AFF logo image than this:

I assume there are no copyright issues about doing this for my own personal use?

I'd rather not deface my beautiful MacBook with a sticker across it. I have thought about laser etching, though not the AFF logo. Usually in a lounge I'll position my bag so that the AFF/FT/MP bag tags are clearly visible.

I thought that was the idea behind the tags.

As far as a bigger logo goes, there might be a higher quality version in the bag tag threads when ideas were being chosen.

I just ordered 2 of the baggage tags. I think the AFF Logo on the back of my laptop's display will generate interest even if there are no AFFers around. I have a nice HP laptop with an etched wavey pattern on the back of the brushed metal case. The AFF Logo will look good on the upper right side (as viewed from the back) as there are no waves etched there.

I like the idea of some better way to identify other AFF members that are around, but I agree with Sam about a laptop sticker. I like to leave my laptop in the state apple intended it.

In the past I've suggested to Virgin that we have a flag in all lounges worldwide, and have it raised when an AFF member enters the lounge.

They didn't get back to me.

But in saying that, it would be nice to have a more obvious way to recognise other AFF'ers. I always seem to miss people.

Have you tried Planely? Planely You can put location / lounge info in the "Why are you flying" box.

Yes - I use Planely. But I don't find it as effective as some sort of physical object we carry around with us.

I have the AFF baggage tags on my laptop and wheelie.

Add a flight from Mel on the 29th at around 14:10 and see if you can see my flight info which has the lounge data.

I have found that the large DYKWIA sticker allows me to be easily identified. :p

Good to see you have taken up the VA WP status match.

I missed the announcement as I was very busy in Hongkong. Now in Bkk and in Mel on the 29th to visit the DJ lounge and get my new VA WP tag. :D

So just look for the tall guy with dark brown curly hair and 3 baggage tags (AFF, QFWP, VAWP) on his wheelie and laptop bag......;):D:D

What we really need is an AFFinder app for the iPhone. Similar to Grinder, but only for AFFers :) (Ok, similar that it locates people from a certain group within close proximity, that's probably/hopefully where the similarities would end :p)

Good idea. It wouldn't be too hard to make an app like that. (Maybe some of the other bring App developers and I should get together and try to make it?)

I wonder if there would be any legal/copyright issues if we made such an app?

By the way. There is no e in Grindr. Weren't you listening to me on Wednesday night.

I thought there used to be AFF locations in the lounges (maybe it was just FT?) - places where AFFers default to sitting.

The "FT corners" have devolved. The SYD/BNE locations are in the QP area, not the JL so not preferred by WP's; MEL's is in the JL, so not accessible to many, ADL/CNS have new terminal buildings and have not had a new assignation; HBA is so small that anywhere can be an FT corner; DRW has been enlarged, so it's pending a new corner and PER is full of Yellow Jacketed FiFo's so can't get near it.

Hmmm... I have often thought about this.. But then is there enough of us to warrant a Location Based finder for Frequent Flyers .... We should just all use google latitude or something. I don't suggest we all go onto grindr ... speaking of which what would AFF version be called FrequentGrindr ?

Actually might just be easier to have some kind of check-in page for AFF?? When you check in a lounge ?

I guess we'll find out soon enough, just wish I'd kept my mouth shut until I'd finished building it ...

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Ahh the old marketing strategy. Announce a product that doesn't exist yet. Not something airlines would do, but if it works.....
