Aeroplan ticketing issue J -> whY?

Hi all,

I've a little bit of a conundrum that's arisen from a recent aeroplan booking.

I booked FCO -> PER with an extended stopover in Muscat. When I booked it indicated that every segment (FCO - MCT, MCT - DOH, DOH - PER) was in J. The first two legs are with WY and the last leg to PER is VA/QR. As you can see from my booking confirmation all the flights are in J as they were at the time of booking on the website. However, when I log back into my aeroplan account to check my booking it is showing that the WY flights are now in Y (VA/QR still is J). What's happened and any suggestions on the best way to approach Aeroplan about this in order to ensure a favourable outcome for me?

Also advice on the best way to contact them? - I tried to call them once already about this and gave up after 100 minutes. It's enough to make me misty-eyed over QF customer service in the aftermath of COVID. Those were the days... 🫠 Cheers!

Have you logged into Manage Booking on Oman Air to check seat a selection? And does that show economy or business? You might also want to call Oman Air and see what it’s showing on their systems.

‘U’ class is an oman air economy booking code, so it’s possible that it’s just a fare mapping error, and that you’re safely in business class, despite what the itinerary may say. There were known problems with aeroplan bookings at the time Oman Air fully joined oneworld, and fare classes weren’t matching up in the process.

You might still need to call aeroplan to get the ticket reissued, and the wait times can be brutal if you don’t have status :(
