Hi All

Its been awhile since i have been travelling, i used to have QF Gold, but now i'm a lowly bronze member, and not a member of Qantas Club either.

I will be travelling premium economy MEL-Hong Kong-Amsterdam and return on Cathay Pacific later this year, what are my best options for getting lounge access on the way.... should I sign up to Marco Polo club?

I'm keen to spend time in lounges rather than bumming around airports.... what is the best way to maximise benefits with oneworld/cathay member loyalty programs?

Cheers

Michael

Unfortunately I don't think you are going to qualify for lounge access based on your current status. You will need QF gold (or equivalent) to get access.

Cathay Pacific will allow Silver Members of it's own program to get lounge access to dedicated CX lounges. I'm not an expert on the CX program, but it looks like silver membership requires 30,000 club miles, with Premium Economy (assuming you are in an eligible fare class) earning 110% of actual miles flown.

I think your best options is to either join priority pass (you'd need to check lounge locations and opening times), or use one of the pay-as-you go lounges.

This is correct, you will need oneworld sapphire or higher membership or MPC silver to access CX lounges.

Alternatively if you collect Asia Miles you can redeem 7000 Asia Miles for lounge access.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
