I saw admin on sunrise this morning attempting to answer unanswerable questions on the value of frequent flyer points.

In about a two minute segment admin was expected to answer how to make best value of and how to make frequent flyer schemes work for the individual. Rather difficult in the time frame available.

A rather good effort considering the general nature of the questions asked.

..... and a bit of a plug for 'frequentflyer.com.au'

I was just waiting for you to use the word ENHANCE when talking about the changes to the QFF program... you let me down :D

I amsure crazydave73 will chirp in but isnt this misleading;

2) Has the number of FF points needed to fly increased previously?
No, the number of points required is related to the cost of the seat,

Surely as prices naturally creep up due to inflation the price of the redemption creps up. The obvious counter to this is that members earn more points as prices rise as well so there should be some form of inflation hedging theer perhaps. Virgin can manage their numbers of redeemed seats through managing available sale fares.

I am not defending QF in that - I just think its sneaky phrasing.

I think the way it is written could be taken either way. No - the price to buy a seat ie X number of points per $ to buy a seat has not changed, but YES, that the $ value of the seat may have increased

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Wan't it DJ that said that? I have mentioned before that the structure of DJ's system is that the points required will creep up over time as prices increase. QF's system makes much more visible and large steps when they make the changes.

What my clumsy phrasing meant was that in critiquing DJ I was not defending QF.

And you are happy to admit that you watch this program??? :shock:

Please tell us that Clifford alerted you to his impending appearance and that you turned it on just to see him. :(

Disclaimer: The only reason I know Sunrise is bad is from watching Media Watch. Same applies for TT, ACA, in fact anything on 7, 9 & 10.
