Hello. I am in Adelaide The temperature is perfect and a lovely fresh breeze from the ocean titillates my outlook for the day. Is there anywhere that you local flyers catch up for a vino in the evenings?

I can't say what people do in Adelaide, but in Melbourne I normally just retire to my private island if I want a few drinks

Oh dear, it seems that you have not received the paperwork yet. Your island was considered a bit on the French side and consequently has been invaded, all wildlife removed and has now been concreted over!

:p

Depends where you're staying, but try heading down to the marina in Glenelg as there are a couple of nice bars down there, and you can sit outside with a nice view of the marina or the sea. If you're in the CBD, catch the tram to Glenelg (all the way to the last stop), then head north along the seafront; it's only 200-300 metres..... The Oyster Bar is one good option.......

We've had a few meet ups, namely in the Collins Bar at the hilton. And The Loft in gouger st in the CBD. The was another bar that I can't remember the name.

The east end of the city is pretty good, Rundle St, with pretty of bars and eats. Going to Sosta there tonight.

Red Orche has views of the city, never been there myself. There is also Bistro Dom for fine dining. I think both of these can be booked with Qantas to earn points.

Glenelg is rather good. It can be a bit of a zoo at night.

Paperwork arrived fine but I just forgot. My island has a pretty much identical platinum shadow island next door and sometimes I get them confused.

Enjoying a wonderful late lunch at Hently... Highly recommend the Salmon with a Cloudy Bay! I need a rich partner to marry -either sex is ok, and live here on the beach forever....

I'm at the intercon and anyone who hasn't abused me or made a snide remark in the past is welcome to join me for drinks and dinner tonight

stupid

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I'm just over the road at the Stamford Plaza enjoying a pre-dinner drink. Off to Sosta in a little bit. *waves

and if I wasn't barely alive after playing golf in this heat I'd take you up on the offer myself. Curiosity and killing cats and all of that.

Just got home after spending the day in Sydney so I'm staying put.

Given that you are in the CBD definitely go to Casablabla, 12 Leigh Street off Hindley - top end near King William. It's open till very late.

Sorry Claire, yes I too was at the IC (have been having a tour of them this last week) but I haven't really been reading the forums so only just saw this when Newk PMed me this morning.

Would have caught up for a drink but we are leaving today.

Maybe as well as a lounge catchup thread we need a hotel catchup thread too.

There is a Hilton Meeting thread but not one for IHG except for the IHG member drinks nights thread.

Thanks JohnK.

The Hilton one is similar to what I was thinking. My comment was more of a throw away line as I imagine keeping a list of where people are at all times would be a nightmare to administer.

And one of the moderators, straitman, does a great job keeping it up to date.

We had a good catchup in Hilton Sukhumvit on New Years Day.

Sound fun - I met straitman last week and I mentioned that I always wonder how you all have enough time to manage this site, as I struggle to find time to read a small part of it.

I guess I will have to do a better job at reading the whole forum in future. Maybe I have to give up work just to find time to (a) read here, (b) acquire points and (c) use the points. So far I am concentrating on (b) but I think I have to get a bit smarter in future.

Hmmm, with 23,640 posts, I am sure you know how to use the points.
I guess I meant use the points more efficiently.
