Adelaide Hotel - 1-5 March 2010

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any recommendations for hotels close to Adelaide CBD? Everything decent seems to be booked for the first week of March (mon to fri).

Seems like there's something going on that week and all of South Australia is heading to the city...

The only options I'm finding are Comfort Inn style places in the outer suburbs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Wotif is showing some city possibilities for those dates. Mantra Hindmarsh Square is well situated and, although I have not stayed there, I have heard good reports. Majestic Roof Garden is also available, but again I have no first hand experience.

The Adelaide Festival and Fringe are on at that time.

If you're stuck, (haven't checked if it's available... but...) I stayed at the Soho Clarion which is just on the fringe of the city a few weeks back.

Was very surprised that it was a Clarion - very modern/new/artsy. It's no Hilton/Intercont - but then its a lot newer, so it's got its appeal in that respect.

Also have had great stays at Oaks Liberty Towers in Glenelg if you're up for a drive or tram trip to your accom. Nice relaxing environment.

both the mantra hindmarsh square and the majestic roof garden are very decent options.

Besides the fringe and adelaide festival I wouldn't be surprised if WOMAD is on as well. And i think that V8 super cars is on sometime in march.

Clipsal 500 is 11-14 March, $600 a night at the IC - ouch!
