After an extended closure, the Adelaide Hilton re-opened last week.

I checked in over the weekend. It's quiet but not deserted. However, it's worth noting a few points:

(i) the Executive Lounge is closed;
(ii) the f&b offering is pared back, the lobby restaurant is closed most days. The lobby bar is open and doing food and room service is operating;
(iii) breakfast is in the room on weekdays and in the lobby restaurant on weekends. I attach a photo of my comp continental breakfast;
(iv) housekeeping is on request. It can be done everyday but you have to organise that;
(v) pool and rec areas open for business; and
(vi) about half the usual staff numbers are back;

Hmmm...breakfast looks very, very basic! I would have gone to one of the many nice cafes around the Central market ;)

That is definitely basic ..... Definitely cafe is the way to go even if the breakfast is complimentary.

I have stayed there many times and got to know a few staff. I felt very sorry for them being stood down during the pandemic. I hope they are all on JobKeepers.

I'm looking to go to Adelaide Hilton in mid-Dec - VIC based so hopefully we can travel :)
As a gold member normally I book the basic room and get upgraded to the exec room.
However, I heard that since Feb 2020 they are only doing Delux room upgrades to differentiate between Gold and Diamon members - and that it's a Hilton directive worldwide. Has anyone experienced it? As a gold over the years = I always get upgraded to an executive room with lounge benefits (noting lounge in closed in Adel).

I was just there and had no upgrade as a Gold member.

I guess you at least got their "continental" breakfast.

As a gold and then diamond over the last 15 years most stays they have looked after me.

I have not been there for some years as the benefits at the Hyatt for me were better.

Did you get breakfast of some sort?

I was offered a continental brekky for free at the restaurant, but declined it.

I don't like the coffee at the Hilton, and I would rather go around the corner to the multitude of coffee shops and eateries. My staple is a coffee and a pastry from the French cafe in the arcade
