Adelaide Airport Upgrade

Why not just have the new lounge constructed as part of the expansion (I assume construction still ongoing?) and leave the current Lounge where it is operating, and then when the new lounge and airside area is all complete, then close the old lounge? Or would that be too logical? If I remember correctly the current VA lounge does not share any common floor space or walls with the expansion project.

I assume this is just ADL Airport "double dipping" as they will be able to close the current VA lounge, refurb that floorspace for more retail, and rent it out, while still collecting rent from VA for their "pop-up" lounge? If so that's pretty poor negotiation tactics from VA to fall victim to that trick.

Some of the new retail area where VA are moving to is opening next week but my understanding is that they need VA out of their old space so that they can move some of the airline offices that are currently based in aviation house over there. Aviation house is set to be demolished in the next month or so.
The area for the pop up lounge appears a decent enough size from my quick looks and it’s only for a month or so until the new lounge opens which to the eye atleast looks double the size if not more to the old lounge.

Good info - thanks for that - I wasn't aware that Aviation House was scheduled for demolition, if so why wasn't Aviation House demolished when the old Terminal was being demolished and give them a bigger area to construct the new terminal expansion in? They had the demolition crews in there 9 months ago.
