Adding Qantas FF to VA/QR Reward Flight

I am Platinum QFF and Gold VA. I have just booked a reward flight to UK via Doha using the new VA/Qatar flights. Flights SYD-DOH are VA flight number and I can reserve seats but the DOH-LHR leg and return are QR flight numbers and I can't select seats.

Has anyone successfully added a QFF number to a VA reward booking to get Plat status on QR flight leg? Anyone know if I override the VA FF# and add QFF #, does this change seat selection on the VA leg and change lounge access ??

Anyone been able to preselect seats on the QR flight using Gold VA FF ?

A Qantas platinum would get a "better" lounge at DOH before a QR flight than a Velocity Gold.

I believe different segments of a booking/ticket can have different frequent flyer numbers - BUT - a competent TA is generally required to set this up correctly.

If you booked this directly with the airline, it may be difficult to arrange.

For a straight VA reward booking on QR, yes I have done that, added my QFF # and got OWE perks. No problems.

I’ve also done something similar with QF, classic reward booking that they reaccomodated me on UA with a full Y fare. I added my Velocity number earnt points for the flight using the UA app. It was on the same PNR as my QF/AA flights and it didn’t cause any issues.
