I’m getting a wretched pop up asking me to disable my adblocker, and preventing me from accessing the site.

I have disabled my adblocker and switched off my VPN, and I’m still getting the error. I’ve triple checked my adblocker is definitely turned off. Disabled all browser extensions. I’ve had to post this from my phone as I simply cannot get on the forums on my laptop anymore. Evidently the adblocker detector isn’t working as it should and it’s very frustrating.

What web browser are you using?

Some of them like Opera have an adblock built in.

What browser are you using, has it recently been updated?

I find the best thing to do is leave the ad-blocker enabled but add AFF to the whitelist. The extension icon will then display green when browsing AFF.

I know the most recent version of Firefox has settings built in to block certain content on websites that can interfere with ad-blockers. You can examine this level of built-in protection by clicking on the green padlock in the address bar if this is what you are using.

Thanks for your replies. I’m using Chrome, with uBlock Origin.

Not sure if I can add to whitelist, there’s just a big on/off button you press and it remembers what site you set it to off for.

OK I have worked it out and am successfully posting from Chrome on my laptop. My VPN chrome extension was clearly doing something despite being turned off. I removed its access to this site and now it works.
