I went to the Gazette page to check out what's news and I got popup telling me to whitelist AFF.

As a logged in and paid up member, this sucks. How do I get past it? I'm not whitelisting. Many ads on the intertubes make me twitchy.

I discovered that Kaspersky was causing that for me. Just an update and all of a sudden it was adblocking without my knowing it and AFF gazette site objected ( also the executive traveler site I think). Went in to Kaspersky and white listed AFF and all ok.

If you don't use Kaspersky,, it still might be your anti virus or even Windows 10.

No, the problem is that I AM using an ad blocker and do not want to turn it off, and as a paid member, I don't understand why this message is coming up.

I don't have an ad blocker but about two weeks ago I started getting the pop up flash screen asking to turn mine off. Never saw it before that.

Interesting. Might check my antivirus. Generally with sites demanding whitelisting, I just shut them down again and don't bother. Like Paywalls.

It's nothing to do with your anti-virus software in this case. The benefit clearly states that the ad-free experience is purely on forum pages. Our Gazette runs on a different web platform (Wordpress) and we are not yet able to bridge the two systems effectively. When navigating to the Gazette the software does not see your logged-in state for the forum and cannot turn off ads.
