I don't travel a lot during the year so I was really happy to have just hit GOLD but I realised that I only have it for two months until my ACCOR Plus membership expires. I have a couple of questions for the community:
  • If I renew my ACCOR Plus membership now, will I get another 20 bonus elite nights added to my GOLD status, meaning that I only need an additional10 nights to hit Platinum?
  • Is Gold to Platinum a noticeable improvement for family stays at properties like Peppers?
Thanks in advance. :)

On the validity period... As it shows on your ALL Gold card in the screen shot, you have that Gold status now until at least 31/12/2024. And then, with the way that Accor Plus runs alongside ALL (the primary program), if you keep renewing your Accor Plus membership annually, then you should be able to retain Gold through Jan 2026.

Cheers,
Matt.

It only looks like I have GOLD until 31 Jan 2024.

Like you, I also have a January anniversary date.

I renewed just now.

The 20 bonus nights did not post instantly. I'll report back if and when it does.

Sorry - didn't look closely enough at the image... but if you only made Gold this year, then what I said remains. The underlying status is geared around the Accor ALL program, and in that, if you earn or retain status in one year, you keep that for the remainder of that year, and all of the next (i.e. until at least 31-Dec-2024). Accor Plus then comes in over the top of this, and carries your current status to the end of your Accor Plus membership year (so renew January and you'll have until at least Jan 2025), and assuming you renew again, they look at the highest status that you have made in the last 2 periods to determine what status you will carry forward for the renewed year (i.e. Gold until Jan 2026)

Thanks for the comprehensive explaination. On that basis, it sounds like it would make sense renewing in January and hoping that the extra 20 nights are afforded to me at that time. I already have 9 nights planned for late January so I would just about hit Platinum in that month alone.

The app and website suggests that you have until Jan 31 to earn 60 nights to reach Platinum however this is supposedly an error which came out of a recent website update.

Apparently your status nights will reset on Jan 1 and go back to zero. You will therefore not become Platinum in late January. To reach Platinum anytime soon you will need to reach 60 nights before Dec 31.

Your status will carry forward, but any nights you have in 2023 will reset to 0 on January 1

Your nights will reset to zero on December 31st.
Status nights are wiped out at end of each actual year not your membership year

So I've just signed up for Accor Plus.

Was curious about the complete and utter lack of information about the Accor Plus Discovery additional benefits beyond a vague thing about having "$500 Discovery Dollars", and it seems that very few people who have written about Accor Plus online have said anything about Discovery, so I bit the bullet and paid the extra $49 and will write something about what those benefits actually look like. I am almost certain the benefits are terrible and no better than the other discount travel sites I have access to already.

...well, I will, once the website actually lets me log in to the Discovery benefits site. You're apparently meant to see a "Discovery Offers" link on the Offers page when you're logged in. I do not. Let's see how this goes.

Accor's members site and notifications really do need some work.
Renewal month is September and because I hadn't reached platinum by then I dropped back to gold October 1 which was reflected immediately in my account. I managed to earn the remaining 4 nights for platinum on November 25 and this was reflected in my account when I checked on the 26th the same day I received a notification from Accor Plus welcoming me to GOLD

I have a question regarding booking a brand new Accor hotel (prior to its opening) for travel start of Feb in Japan.

Hotel in question: Hotel Sosei Sapporo MGallery (Opening January 2024)

Is this a good idea? Never booked a hotel prior to its opening, considering it's only slightly more expensive than the Mercure (Snow Festival prices) would obviously prefer to stay in a Mgallery vs Mercure. Can see that the old hotel that the Mgallery is replacing was decently rated on tripadvisor.

Am Accor Plus and Platinum so would be hoping to take advantage of the lounge (if it is open). Any thoughts or experiences from a similar circumstance would be welcome!

Accor chat confirmed that 20 status nights are credited for all Explorer memberships, including Business Explorer. Can anyone confirm through their experience when signing up to Business Explorer? May as well get an additional 5k QFF points but benefit not listed on website.

I need to stay at the Sofitel Melbourne on a weeknight in February. It's ~$370/night.

Accor Plus is $399 for a year. Can anyone tell me if the 1 free night stay can be used at the Sofitel in Melbourne?

Absolutely BUT I've found blackouts when it is not available when trying to book and I think the value might only be up to 200 or 250 so don't join if only looking for a "free" night
