Accor ALL Signature Discussion

For sure, burning points means opportunity cost in earned ALL and QF points.

So usually 1,000 status points would be minimum €400 spend and even more if staying at the lower tier properties, wouldn’t it?

I think even if its not a clear cash flow positive program it used to be, it still makes Platinum
and Diamond much easier than real spending - especially if you use Mantra, Peppers and Ibis for some of your stays.
Surely staying in less rewarding properties only makes sense if you are using the status nights from Signature to chase Platinum.
Since of course Diamond can only be earned with status points. Nights are irrelevant.
Why settle for 10 or even 12.5 status points per 10 euros when you could earn 25?
I haven't stayed in a single lower earning property since I started worrying about status.
I see it as wasted money and a lost opportunity.

When you're paying with points it makes no difference - the earn rate everywhere is 0.

So across any given year (assuming all self-funded and no tax considerations) the optimal play is to pay cash at 'full rate' properties and burn ALL points at 'less rewarding' properties, when those properties are the most suitable option in a particular destination.

Yes I am aware.
However the post I was replying to did not seem to be referring to non-earning stays.

Obviously bookings with an earn rate of zero can't "make Platinum and Diamond much easier".

Starting September 10 Accor will increase prices for all plans across the board. For me it is now $370 more for the Absolute plan, around $2250/year compared to $2180 depending on exchange rates.

Edit: not sure how their emails work as I just received the email.

Just confirming. I cant stack accor plus and signature for status points
You can have Accor Plus and Signature … but I’m not sure what you mean. The status nights bonus caps out at 30 across all subscriptions and Accor Plus doesn’t give bonus status points…. so they don’t really stack for status.

Status nights dont count. Can anyone confirm if status points still come through. Im trying for diamond.
Yes, with all signature you’ll get monthly status points on top of what you earn each month through spending.

You will get the usual signature status points for the level of membership each month. You will get status points for stays, and I think other expenses charged to your room (but not 100% sure on that) and you even get (reduced) status points for stays paid partly with reward points. To reach Diamond you need 26,000 status points and the number of nights is irrelevant. So if you have Signature Absolute, you will get 12,000 status points over the year and then you will need to earn a further 14,000 status points from stays etc. Explorer membership does nothing for you towards status.

I’ve only recently heard about this signature product and would like to understand a little more.

Do you renew both the Asia pac explorer membership and then add this on, or is signature meant to be used as a standalone product?

I’ve got about 1,500 status points today, however, my explorer membership has recently lapsed. First time in about 10 years I’ve not received a call to renew. I had a good sum of reward points, and just used them on an upcoming stay.

If I’m reading it correctly, August would not be a good time to join and it’s best to wait until December (or Black Friday if there is a sale).

Would have been great to find this previously, I’ve been close to platinum a few times. Would be great if status points rolled over and continued to build.

Either works. They have different benefits.

Correct.

@Pavle I find it helps to think about these products this way:
Explorer gives you a dining discount and 2 stay plus free nights. You can make your money back with free stays and dining although the free stays are getting harder to find plus you have to stay for 2 nights to use a free stay night. YMMV. You also get credited with 30 stay nights which is enough for immediate Gold and leaves you only 30 stay nights to reach Platinum.

Signature gives you a serving of rewards points each month plus extra points every 4 months. You can use these to pay for stays or partially pay if you don’t have enough. You also get a serving of status points every month. These contribute to your status.

If you take the top level plan you will get 5,000 reward points each month plus 5,000 bonus points every 4 months. You also get 1,000 status points per month so 12 months would get you 12,000 points towards Platinum which means you only need a few stats to get there. They have also recently started giving 5 stay night credits per month up to 15 or 20 nights. But you are not supposed to be able to stack any more than 30 credited stay nights in a year, so not much use if you also have Explorer. However, my 30 from explorer and my 15 from Signature are both showing currently in my stay nights total. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I wouldn’t rely on this.

Reaching status via Signature uses the status points pathway - credits you with 12,000 and you earn the remaining 2,000 to Platinum via stays. Yiu also get good slabs of reward points. Explorer credits you with 30 nights and you earn the other 30 nights by stays. You also get dining and free nights.

Edited to mention the member asking the question and correct number of nights for Explorer

Also re the timing of starting a plan- everyone’s status is assessed now on 31 December every year. So in my mind the best month to start would be January. If you start either Signature or Explorer in December you will get credited right before your status is assessed. Which is great if you already have 30 night of a couple of thousand status points, but totally useless if you do not.

If you start in January you will bank your benefits and be easily able to align what you need to earn with the status year (which is now the calendar year).

I’ve already got gold from stays prior to the program changing to auto gold. I’ve been a continuous member for 10 years or more, and only my status and points roll over, my status credits always reset, I’ve got a stay booked for October of 10 nights so I will want the dining benefit for this stay, so unfortunately, will have to renew prior to that.

Yes but you only need to renew the Explorer at that time to get dining benefit. You will get 30 nights credited at that point. Plus 10 nights for your stay, plus whatever you already had the earned you gold = you will make platinum after your 10 night stay (or maybe even before it with the 30 nights from Explorer alone) . You will get it immediately for the rest of 2026 and on 31 Dec 26 you will be assessed as Platinum and will get all of Platinum for 2027.

If you want to stay Platinum for 2028, you will have to be assessed at Platinum on 31 Dec 27. If you don’t think you will get there with your planned 2027 stays plus 30 nights credited when you renew your Explorer again in October 2027, then you could consider signature.
