Accor ALL Signature Discussion

I’ve been looking at the program for a few months but in the end I just decided it wasn’t really worth it for us personally as it doesn’t come with many benefits so I’d be pretty much just buying the reward points at a slightly better rate. Does look like a pretty decent program though

I’m a newer member, I pay monthly and mine has gone up to ~$210/month (BRL 760).

The value of the reward points is about $180 month so my question now is whether I want to pay $360 per year (which is the difference of $30 per month in value between the reward points I get and what I pay x 12 months) to all but guarantee platinum. This year I will reach platinum easily from where I currently am by a mix of signature status point and points for stays I am making anyway. I might even make Diamond, given my planned forward stays, so I will definitely need a spreadsheet to work out whether I should continue this year or not. I think in the future I might be a 6 month member each year and then cancel….
BRL 9,120 for a year = EUR 1,540 at the moment, and so you'd be paying EUR 40 a year extra (above the value of the ALL rewards points) for the status points. No value from a rewards points perspective for you any longer, though

Also don't forget when you pay using points you don't earn points...

I had hotel credit status even when using points to pay. There is one in Sydney and I had a similar one in Shanghai.

It could be a one off error or systemic error, as I only had a single stay at both hotels.

Status nights credit no matter how you pay, you don’t get point or status points unless you pay.

The new price is not a good deal. You would have to be opportunistic to get a good deal in the future in terms of promotions or favourable exchange rate movements.

A point of clarification with the program, the email says "Reward points never expire while your subscription is active." Does anyone know how long after your subscription expires the points expire?

12 month of no activity.

Got status points even when I paid with points. So burned about $300 for one night stay and got 500 status points and 900 reward points

Sounds like there was a cash component, it’s hard to pay entirely with points but if you manage it you will get status nights

Cash component was $15, so it was definitely the points that eanred status points.

Also I had the 100 USD FB credit from my booking, which I used and was reversed as a credit on the account, which also earned status points base on what I spend.

LL says the discount for annual payment is 8%.

It’s unclear if that will remain under the new price structure.

Historic prices of Signature for reference:
2023/24: 6,720 BRL
2025: 7,788 BRL
Now: 9,120 BRL

I’ll be interested to see what renewal price I’m offered because for some early adopters, Signature pricing has operated like the BA Avios subscription. 😉 I fear this might thaw as a result of this change.
9120 is exactly 12 times the new monthly fee of 760 so it looks like there is no longer any discount for paying annually.

Doesn't happen often, but I've also had the full serve of status points. rewards points and nights credited when paying with maximum points, as well. It may come down to the person processing the check-out or how they are set up with Accor, but it does happen! Probably best to flag as another Fight Club item...

Bank error in your favor……

Well done. I don’t really understand why status points cannot be awarded for the value of the booking, it’s not like they can be used for anything except an indicator of spend with Accor after all. Reminds me of when IHG used to say no status benefits on rewards nights.

True - maybe earns at a lower rate or something, like QF Points Club and taking a CR flight.
Generally, I'm fine with the Accor process regardless.

12 months of no activity as a Signature subscriber, or ALL in general? (The wording seems ambiguous!)

Points expire with 12 months of no activity, but if you the subscription you get monthly points so you points wouldn't expire because you have monthly activity.

Now with Amex as a transfer partner you can just do a minimum transfer to get 12 months of activity
