Hi all,
I just want to seek some advise for fellow frequent flyer to see if there is anyway around this, I have tried contacted the qantas number and they say it is nothing they can do. =(

I have recently qualified for marcopolo gold, however, I havent received the card yet. They have stated will take 6-8 weeks for the card to arrive, but the problem is, I will be travelling from mel to cbr on 2 on dec. I just wondering if there is a way I can get access to qantas club without presence of physical card. Can they check my status with my marcopolo number and send me an email or something. It is not end of the world if I really cant get int qantas club but it would be nice!

Have you tried contacting Cathay about that? I am sure they could help you with a solution

I am wondering if it would print on your BP? I know when i flew BA a few weeks ago my QFF plat/OWE status showed up on the BP which was all they needed to allow me in.

My QF status showed on (at least) AA and CX BPs last year, so you would think QF BPs should reciprocate (not to say they necessarily do). Maybe one of our AA EXPs could chime in?

Should be printed on your BP, otherwise a print out showing you CX status should suffice.

My AA EXP status showed on my QF flights.

I would certainly print out your account page showing your Marco Polo status as a fall back.

My BA OW Sapphire status has always shown on QF BP, OLCI or printed at the airport.

I've never been asked for a physical card when entering a domestic Qantas Club.

I imagine a print out of status from your account webpage would be helpful. You could also try asking Cathy to email or fax a latter confirming your status. I know BA will do this (they call it a 'lounge letter' (I believe it is intended primarily for showing to BA lounges) but they have to send it by fax and not by email.

I lost my QP card in BA on the 3rd day of a 2.5 month RTW trip and was able to get into BA (even gallery T5 clubs), AA ACs, QF QPs and even an IB lounge i wasn't suppose to, just by showing my first BP out of Australia which showed my QP status and telling them my story... Only got refused once in Berlin by an unhelpful kraut...

Most just needed to type something in or make a phone call to somewhere to confirm... I did stumble on the fact that if they had a serious problem i could just log onto my Qantas page and show them my status as a QP member up until end of August but didn't think about printing it off and carrying it with me...

Between everything suggested here, and if you make sure you put your FF number in when booking the trip it should def up on your BPs, you shouldn't have any problems... Famous last words i know... ;)

Be careful with your wording. The Lounge agents in TXL are usually very friendly and helpful (in contrast to their colleuges in the LH Lounge). Most of them have a British background...

Access policy is: Card + Boarding pass. You did not have your card!

They may let you in, but do not expect it!

Digging up an old thread but I have a question regarding QC access. My old man is flying out of BKK on Jetstar tonight (booked today for the grand final!) returning Sunday night. He is QC silver on his online account. He doesn't have a card though. Is he able to access the QC in BKK and MEL by just quoting his number? From what I understand QFF numbers don't get printed on Jetstar boarding passes? Or should he give them his number at check in? Thanks for any tips or experiences.
