3)Local bank - recommendations. Cash / card?

4)Medical - I understand visa holders >3 months entitled to "NZ like" medical care??. But will still get TI

5) Public transport card in Aarhus

6)Getting to/from Copenhagen

7)Bikes? Buy?

He could learn some Danish via the Duolingo app or website. It has become very childish in appearance over recent months but it has worked well for me in the past to learn languages from scratch and then be able to have simple conversations when overseas.
