AKL-SYD in A = 1345 miles = 2017 EQPodoherty said:OK one final question....
I am flying AKL-SYD in A under QF flight number
SYD-BNE on QF in O
In a few weeks time I fly BNE-MEL in D on QF
MEL-HKG in A on QF
By my calculations, this would be sufficient for AA Platinum challenge.
SYD-BNE in O = 467 miles = 500 EQP
BNE-MEL in D = 857 miles = 1285 EQP
MEL-HKG in A = 4590 miles = 6885 EQP
Total EQP = 10,678
So challenge is completed on MEL-HKG flight.
Correct. The 100% bonus for the challenge completion flight will post separately and may take an extra day or two. The 100% bonus is on the base miles and does not include any cabin bonus. So MEL-HKG will earn you 6885 based miles, plus 6885 platinum bonus miles, plus 3441 cabin bonus miles for travelling in first class.odoherty said:Also, from then on I earn double points on all OW qualifying flights.
I should also earn double on the MEL-HKG sector?
To be completely correct, you earn 4 x 500 mile upgrade credits for each 10,000 qualifying miles (not EQP). Those upgrade credits can only be used for AA domestic flights. So for members with an address outside the USA or for USA residents who demonstrate that they only fly internationally, AA allow the conversion of their upgrade credits to miles at a rate of 2000 miles for each 4 upgrade credits. Several years ago they used to convert 4 UCs to 10,000 miles, but the rate was dropped to 2000 miles a little while back.odoherty said:AND... I earn a bonus 10,000 points every time I travel 10,000 qualifying miles?
Is this all correct?
