I have created a mileage calculator for people to figure out what Q-points, Q-miles, etc they will earn with AA on all the airlines. It is currently Beta as I am sure it has bugs that somebody will figure out, so have a play and test and let me know if you discover any issues.

I'm a bit busy right now but will take a look at this. I've been building a calculator for several FFPs so very interested to see yours.

Sounds good...I'm surprised nobody has done it before, there are a few around but they are too basic: only AA, don't look at fare buckets, dont take into account when you qualify for next status, etc, etc.

Take your time, I'm sure it must have mistakes.

nice work mate!!!

this has saved me scribbling on paper everytime I want to reassure myself that i will make exp this year :D

Thanks very much MatthewRob.

I found one small problem when I was entering a BA flights in WT+ and J. It was coming up with the CoS bonus in qmiles when I think it is just simply miles flown (at least that is what my Aadvtage statement works it out).

Nice one. You've given me some ideas for improvements to the spreadsheet I've been developing.

There should be a way to override the calculation - eg where the comment indicates non-earning you should have a way to select/force non-earning.

I'll have to check whether there are any OW cases, but certainly in *A there are some airline/booking class combinations where earning rate varies according to route. The way your calculation is structured will not be able to cope with those (unless you provide a way to override).

Yeah the problem is the spreadsheet doesn't take into account routes and all the possible variations of airports. It would be good if you could just put in the cities and it caulculated the mileage and knew if it was ineligible (ie JFK-LHR BA), but I think it is beyond my Excel skills!

Would be good to see yours which is in development though.

Mine does have routing data, although an ongoing struggle to keep up to date so will only ever equate to ~90% complete.

I'll send something through once it is in better shape.

My Beta is now ready - covers QFF, AAdvantage, Mileage Plus and Miles & More. More to be added when I have time.

I too will up mine - it has the mileage distance calculator for a lot of destination pairs (from mileage monkey) but very few Africa. Mine is aimed mostly at comparing AA and QF status and earning.

Did I blink and miss the file attachment?

Edit: Argh! I get it, you were quoting!

Sorry for the dumbness

Sadly the spreadsheet doesn't work with NeoOffice (OpenOffice.Org fork) on a Mac. The calculation cells all say Err:502 which is invalid arguement. I think it's the conversion of links to the control sheet. I can't actually see a control sheet in it here.

Regards

Ziggy
