AA question [earning points with QFF]

Flying QF to LAX and then AA until we fly home via QF to SYD just wondering do I earn QF points on AA flights? Nearly all the AA flights are on my QF booking number excluding JFK to LAX. Should I ensure this is listed on my QF booking reference. I am new to this FF stuff and have no idea really whether I will gain points on those AA flights. Thanks in advance for your help as you all know soooo much and I know so very little about points and flight loadings etc. V

Yes you can earn points on AA flights, for all your AA flights on your QF booking number they will automatically credit to your FF account (keep your boarding passes just to be sure), you will probably need to give AA a call and get them to add your QF number to your JFK-LAX flights.

Depending on your QF status you may also have access to lounges, priority boarding, priority security screening as well on your AA flights.

Here is what you earn.it depends on the fare-those discount economy fares that are N or Q will not earn points.

I may be wrong, but I think that Qantas page on aa.com refers to AAdvantage miles earned on eligible QF flights.
This page Frequent Flyer - Earning Points - Fly - Airline Partners has the QFF earn rates for AA flights.

And note that any booking class not noted in the table means you don't earn any QFF points at all. So that would include O, Q, E etc

Sorry I know this is a dumb question but where do I find my booking class...dah told you I was a newbie to this I just usually book and fly and hope I am gaining points!

Have you already booked?

Did you book all flights through Qantas on the one booking?

If so they will simply show up against each flight segment when you bring your booking up on www.qantas.com/yourbooking. It will be as a letter in brackets. e.g. (Q)

Are the AA flights booked on AA flight numbers or QF codeshare flight numbers? This will determine whether they earn at AA rates or QF rates when credited to QFF.

Serfty , mel to lax (o) and then remaining flights are (v) including QF 4 to Syd does that sound right. Thanks for your help much appreciated. I am saving points to hopefully able to get upgrade next year to Europe I currently have 135k points and not sure where that will get me only qclub bronze...V

There's one more piece to the puzzle - as asked by madrooster, are there any AA flight numbers or are they all QF?
