Hi Folks - I couldn't find an answer for this specific question on AA's baggage page, here on AFF, or even FT, though variations of the question and answer suggest we're probably fine; I'd like to confirm though, if anyone knows!

I've just booked my SIL using QFF points flying IAD-xDFW-xLAX-HNL on AA (all AA metal). She's in Business (U) for the 1st segment, and then Coach (T) for the remaining two segments. Question is - will she be entitled to 2 x pieces of checked baggage for the itinerary, based on the first segment being in Business, or will she be made to pay something, as the majority of the trip is coach? She's returning in First on AS, so no issues there with the 2 pieces, heading home. She has no OW status.

Thanks,
Matt.

Solution
OK - so I called up AA this morning, and they have confirmed - as anticipated - that the Domestic First class allowance applies to the whole itinerary on this one, and there is no charges or restrictions as a result of the subsequent coach segments. Checking in to business class for the first segment will likely also help with simplifying the process.
