Is it just me or have AA classic flight rewards using QFF gone MIA (no, not to the Florida airport - gone missing)?

I was researching some flight options on the weekend and there was reasonable availability between a bunch of city pairs in September I was looking at and I booked one sector on Sunday. But yesterday, going back to finish my search/booking, there appears to be nothing much anywhere.

Still plenty of AS and WS reward flights around. Just limited / no AA!

Yes!

Was searching for some domestic US routes on QF. New seats were being released every day on schedule. Lots of availability. Now all the seats are gone — both no new seats and all existing seats have disappeared. Not sure if the issue is on AA or QF's end. Also looks like AA doesn't have any saver fares on the dates I'm looking for, so may be AA's doing.

Right Royal PITA. I had a simple ORD-BOS booking to make and now I can’t…. 😡

I’m also trying to work out how to get from Maine to YUL (which is proving easier said than done) - whether points or pay. Nothin useful on AC using UA/VA points and I can’t remember which of AA options was least coughty….😔

My guess is they will come back, at least some of them. Even though they're being incredibly tight with release of saver award tickets these days, I can't imagine they've decided to remove all of them permanently.

That would be a @#$&*! disaster! What was the current 330 day release date you were up to when it went pear shaped?

I thought I had seen it mentioned here that AA is moving to mainly variable reward seat pricing and therefore little if any saver awards are being released (which I understand it what needs to be available for QF to show availability).

About 25 December, ironically! Though I haven't been checking literally every day. They've been gone for about a week for me.

They are, especially in premium cabins, but they have still been releasing some saver availability on a regular basis according to a predictable pattern, so I think it is simply an IT glitch in this case.

Yes, but there was still plenty of domestic stuff over the weekend but then just disappeared.

I booked 2x F from glamorous BZN to ORD no drama. Saw plenty of other F and whY availability until it coughped out…

Still appears to be broken and I can’t see any uproar over on FT, so I’m assuming this is a major distruption on the QF side or AA have done a QR and pulled reward flights?…💁🏻

Does anyone know what's going on with the reward fares on AA in the US using QFF points? I've booked several US domestic flights (DCA-MIA) over the past few months, always with stacks of availability (even a day or two out), and since the maintenance late last month there is absolutely zero availability for any date.

Have looked at a whole range of routes that I know availability has existed on in the past, and the only one I could get it to eventually spit out results for was LAX-DCA in November but then clicking through to book they disappeared. I tried asking the Qantas team on twitter who ran me in circles blaming the app (noting you can't book US Classic Rewards through it), then told me they just don't have any seats in Feb/March, so I'm just convinced they don't know anything.

Have AA pulled the seat availability, or is there a connection issue between QF and AA/OW that's breaking the booking engine?

Thanks!

Very strange. I also don't see any availability for any US mainland AA awards via QF either, no matter what random sector/flexible date I try.

Yeah some thing weird is going on, the error message displayed sometimes asks you to check route maps even if searching between 2 AA hubs.cant find a single award flight out of LAX.

I can see DFW-LHR though.

You're not the only person who's run into this issue:

It was working fine as recently as Sunday, 05 Feb (I booked some flights) then sometime in between then and Wednesday it was completely “enhanced” in a really bad way.

BA.com seems to be working (as obviously is AA.com), so it does seem to be a QF issue. I don’t have any Avios to check on QR.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I did a search on MCO-LAX on 5 Jan and it showed American awards, so definitely QF...

Search on? QR?

But yes, does appear to be a QF thing and still broken.

Yes, QR.

(It's annoying that you need Avios to search for award seats on QR - as an aside, I actually did a survey on Privilege Club worth 1000 Avios for the sole purpose of getting some Avios to enable me to search for awards... I left this comment in the free text part of the survey. 🤪)
