Couldn’t find a thread so I thought I’d start one like the QF one.

Flying LAS-ORD right now in domestic F - absolutely delightful meal. Beef short rib, mashed potato with mushrooms and a side of shrimp/prawns (and some token NP leaves).

Frankly if I was flying long haul international I would still be impressed. This was absolutely delicious, I don’t remember a better meal flying AA.

I assume they‘re still doing “pre-order”? Certainly avoids disappointment and not having to remember “is it odd or even flight numbers they serve front of cabin to back or v.v.?”

By way of comparison on a recent flight JFK-SFO, AS just provided an entree and desert (preorder available).

I think they were trying too hard to make this chook dish different and interesting, but failed. Although a decent portion. I forgot to screenshot the choices but nothing as simple as beef and potatoes. That was always a staple transcon!

Post takeoff beverage with the “lime powder” 🤨

We had an earlier flight SEA-JFK that I was hoping for a decent lunch but a schedule change bought it forward to 07:30a and breakfast…

A fruit and cheese plate sounded like the better of 3 ordinary options.

AA domestic F BZN to ORD. Just on 3hr flight. Preorder “entree” available. No appetiser.

PDB offered (champers apparently).
IMG_2229.jpeg

Drinks order delivered before meal.
IMG_2232.jpeg

Salad, main and desert on one tray.

FA wandered through with bread rolls after I’d almost finished the main…

This was my first AA Dom F flight post Covid. Pretty similar to AS earlier this year but I was expecting slightly better.

Upcoming flight ORD-BOS isn’t showing food selection, so we’ll probably be lucky to get a drink….😁

ORD-BOS is only a 'beverage service' I think, even in F, as it's under 900 miles (just; I recently booked an award for ORD-BOS through QF but priced out F beforehand). I think the flights have to be 900 miles to get a meal.

EDIT - you'll get a snack basket...

On AA in domestic F DFW-MSY, MSY-DFW, JFK-IND and IND-DFW I was only offered drinks (both PDB and in-flight) and a selection of snacks i.e. chips, chocolate etc

But on DFW-LAX late morning departure we got drinks and nuts followed by a choice of either penne pasta (not pictured) or the charcuterie which was quite good with hummus, mozzarella, olives, prosciutto, semi sundried tomatoes and cracker. Plus a small cake.

Unless it's changed in the last month that would have been prosecco.

Americans are quite liberal with what they'll call Champagne.

Random bit of trade law trivia for Friday arvo: you can get 'California champagne' and other American made 'champagne'.

(But yes, there was outrage on Flyertalk when it was revealed AA had ditched champagne as a PDB for Ferrari brut.)

Prosecco has been the standard offering in domestic F (non Flagship) for at least the last 5 years - but note that now applies to long haul international. Yikes.

Yeah, for the PDB SYD+1 asked for Champagne and I repeated “sparkling”. When the FA came by to ask for meal drinks, they asked if we wanted more “champagne”… No, we moved onto white wine - which wasn’t bad (a Chardonnay).

AA First from Charlotte to DFW. Flight planned for 1905 departure, snafu saw it delayed until 1950.
Pre drink consisted of water or orange juice, delivered with a decent amount of warm nuts, with cashews, pistachios, almonds.

Drinks orders taken first. Had a red blend wine (FA description).
Due to @justinbrett being a trail-blazer, I had pre ordered the short rib.
All delivered on one tray.
The beef was offered with Mac and cheese (USA, right?).
IMG_1179.jpeg
The lettuce was crisper than possible on a plane, the mush with them was a peppery green stuff and I think a beetroot red stuff.

The beef? Simply one of the best pieces of beef I’ve had, let alone on a plane. Tender, still juicy inside and delish.
IMG_1180.jpeg
The Mac and cheese was very cheesy so you had strings of it clinging to the plate whilst raising to your mouth. Bad scene.
The cake was tender and fresh and the little crispy bikkies were also good.

Plenty of rounds by the FA for refills and they did have sparkling water.

AA1415 DFW - YVR. 0930 departure.
The Worlds Happiest And Friendliest FA (yes, I finally found her!) gave me champagne (well, I asked or champagne and she never corrected me) in a water glass, so a decent serve, whilst boarding.
Had breakfast in the lounge so went for the fruit plate, which was very Australian-like. The other choice was an egg omelet with sausage and fruit.
The pieces were crisp and fresh.
Chobani yoghurt with the cereal and some pineapple was a good combo.
The scroll was warm and tasty.
Coffee was served in a china mug, not bad tasting.
The FA was outstanding - she was smiling the entire flight and even more when she served you.

YUL-DFW “Dinner” flight. A320 dep 16:30 arr 1930 (scheduled 4 hrs / 3 1/2 flying time). A good connection with QF8.

Meal preorder available. There was “Oven baked chicken” and a pasta with tomato sauce I recall (pretty sure there was a 3rd but dire option?).

If I didn’t know better, the CSM miscounted chook orders v pasta and has done a Jesus act of converting six of each into chook with pasta! 😂 Good on him!

Non alcoholic PDBs. Apparently Canada forbids it, but given I had a bubly PDB in YVR on AS flying to SEA, I suspect it’s a silly Quebec thing…?

They seemed to be running out of wine and I guess the catering was loaded in DFW as the inbound flight. Must have been a boozy Tuesday lunch flight!
