Just curious if anyone has ever had to e-mail AA via the Customer Relations site (regarding comments/concerns/compliments etc.), and if so, how long it took to get a reply?

I've sent two e-mails about two weeks ago and haven't heard anything back aside from the generic confirmation e-mail. I understand each case is subjective but they were only simple inquiries that involve little investigation on their part.

Cheers

edit: just to throw it out there, the inquiries were regarding missing Status Credits and my QFF anniversary is early June so, hence the urgency. :P

I know this doesn't directly answer your question, but missing SC questions should be directed to QFF rather than AA.

As Will said, you need to contact QF to claim points/SC's.

Easiest way to do this is through the QFF website at:
https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/do/dyns/auth/claimpoints/prepop

Make sure you have your ticket or itinerary handy to complete the claim. They say it should take 3 Days to turn around the request, but could take longer depending on the carrier.

On AA Customer Service, I don't bother with emails to them. I just fire up skype and call AAdvantage Customer Service in the US. They love the surprise of someone from overseas calling them and they seem so much more efficient.

Yes for your matter take it up with QFF.Even if AA tried to help you they may not be able to.
I always email AA customer relations and they are always prompt in replying. The best was within 30 minutes-it beat the form confirmation email. Then again my primary program is Aadvantage and at that time i was EXP.

AA Customer Service cannot assist with that enquiry. You must contact Qantas Frequent Flyer Service Centre so sort that one out. They will ask for you t provide a copy of the boarding passes as well as flight and ticket details and they will seek confirmation from AA.

Back to the actual question: AA customer service centre always seems to email me promptly and with an answer. Never had an issue, I'd say AA are at the better end of the customer service for airlines.

But not the question: as others have said, better go to QF for a SC related problem. (I've never not got mine from them because of a AA stuff up)

Concur with BAM1748. Always had a prompt reply.

Sorry maybe I should have delved deeper into the situation.

Of course, I went to QF right off the bat and was told to make a claim for missing points with AA I would need to scan my boarding pass and send it to QF to confirm my travel. I'm sure you've all seen the butcher's paper-esque ticket stubs you get from AA so, I just chucked it. Stupid on my part, I know.

Failing that I was told to scan the checked baggage tags which would also have the flight info, strike two, I only travel carry on. :(

The last resort was to contact AA for some sort of 'confirmation of travel' as QF is not allowed to check AA's flight records directly... which brings me to where I am now. I know I seem a bit fussy about it, the points don't overly matter to me, but it's 150 worth of status credits so I wouldn't mind getting a hold of them.

If anyone else has any other idea's that'd be great.
AA's e-mail did indicate that I've been assigned a file number so, I guess I just have to be patient? :-|

Perhaps try phoning them. 150 SCs is nothing to sneeze at. Persist.
