AA and CX with QFF

Just wondering how do AA and CX treat QF WP (OW Emeralds).

Better, worse or the same as QF?

That depends on how you define "treats". Both AA and CX recognise the OneWorld Emerald status and provide the associated defined benefits.

If you are really asking "will AA or CX provide me a free upgrade" then I caution you not to adjust plans because you perceive a better chance of an upgrade. But having said that, I can confirm that in my years as a QF platinum member, I never received an operational upgrade from BA or AA, but have received two from CX.

Typically yes.

AA tend to let first class passengers on domestic flights board before OW elites, including their own EXPlat's travelling in Y.

My recollection of other OW airlines is that all elites can board with first/business class, regardless of class of travel.

CX have separate and policed boarding queues for OWE/OWS and F/J pax. At HKG they also use (except on my last trip :evil dual aerobridges so when you boardF/J dont have to have the proles pushing past to get to the back of the bus. Doesnt stop some F/J pax pushing past you to get to their seat though...

They only time I have flown CX in Y was as a WP. Straight after take off, the CSM moved me to a better seat. Took my dinner order and brought it straight out. Happily served me drinks from J. Cleared up my tray after eating. All before the main cabin dinner service.

If flying and there is a choice between CX and QF for Y. forget the 100% bonus miles and enjoy the treatment!

I still have not been greeted by a QF CSM when travelling in Y. Neither has my wife who also has QF WP status.

This was in January this year. It is still one of the best flights I have had. I find it hard to believe it happened in whY. But it did.

The one time I flew QF whY (X) last year. I was greated by the CSM, giving J headphones, J drinks, but Y meal. I was happy with that.

I had a similar experience on QF Y as an AA EXP in Feb on a SIN-BNE flight. I was greeted and handed J headphones as I boarded the aircraft, and later provided J scotch and a personal welcome. The CSD was looking out for Emeralds at the cabin door and handing our the J headphones.

As a QF person i have got upgrades before on QF, JL, BA, CX, KA its all just luck and chance, but i have been greeted and taken care of by CX, i think they treat all the status passangers well.

Also i managed 2 upgrades from 2 flights from whY to J on JL when my AA number was inserted. But i had no status at all.... all very strange.
