and as the sun breaks through the fog....for a moment in time all is good in the world :D..... may NANCY bring years of pleasure to all those who work on her and fly on her as a passenger

I'm not sure anyone expected anything less than a successful flight. the plane has been repaired and flight tested already. this is not the first flight of a prototype :)

the real concern is how the repairs will hold up in years to come, not really how they managed for the first flight off the block. we have seen instances before where faults in repairs have manifested themselves many years down the track with catastrophic consequences.

Yes let's hope they have done a better job than Boeing did when they replaced the rear pressure bulkhead on the JAL 747 after the tailstrike which led years later to the crash of JAL 123

Cheers

and we have also witnessed faults during the manufacturing/building of parts of an aircraft/engine....sadly in some cases these arent realized til an incident/accident occurs! human beings are not perfect and never will be!!! safe travels to everyone/everywhere is all we can hope for

Saw this on Air Crash investigator a couple of nights ago; the last 30-45mins onboard must have been sheer terror for all on board, knowing that the plane was going to crash and that they were all going to die. Surprised that Boeing did not get a massive lawsuit against them.

I'm sure that Qantas will be keeping a very close on this aircraft in the years to come,I for one would have no problem in flying on her.

I would suspect there is some Q and also Airbus Engineers looking all over the OQA especially the engines.

Interesting question that-do they wash planes? I mean is there a bloke with a bucket of soapy water and a sponge ?
