Not much detail of course but hints of changes to economy. No mention of premium economy though.
A380 gets suites, flat beds | Herald Sun
QANTAS' first-class passengers will have private suites and business customers will get flat beds in the world's biggest jetliner, industry sources said yesterday.
Economy passengers can also look forward to more comfort in new seats on the Airbus A380 aircraft, which is due to start flying to Melbourne late next year.
Airbus has announced an A380 demonstration model would visit Australia next month.

Finalyl some information is coming out - wonder if it is linked to the opening of teh ne F lounges..

Also pleased to see info on routes (I hadnt seen this before - apologies)

Qantas expects to start A380 passenger services in October next year, with a Melbourne to Los Angeles flight.

The plane will also be used on the Sydney-LA route and on the Kangaroo route to London.

Just a shame my flying might be much reduced by then - hmm really need to think about my next job....

I tried a quick look, but evidently Marc Newson, QF favourite designer, let some things out of the bag at the recent First Class Lounge launch in Sydney. One of the rumoured things was an onboard "Spa" for First Class.

Certainly the water variety is not going to happen, but a quick rub down for F passengers mid flight.... who knows?

My colleague (tgtwwm) flew on Virgin Atlantic and still raves about the quality of the business class product including the massage - I guess upgrading the J to that standard is not in the plan.

I am looking forward to playing Tennis on board ;)

Nothing a quick trans-tasman run can't fix. We have plenty of water.

Wrong shape and the economy pax tend to complain about the balls being bounced off their heads.

Now, 10 pin bowling OTOH. Just need to be sure that each adjacent lane is working in the opposite direction ;)

Perhaps it can be used to bring water INTO the country :?:

Please send some to those of us suffering under Level 5 restrictions. I am sure an A380 can tanker in a fair volume of water when required.

Or perhaps the water feature will use re-cycled water from other on-board facilities  .

As long it is the lower deck(s) used to hold the water, not the upper :p

The upper is reserved for Blue Label:idea:

But no more than 100 mL

As long as the water is not being brought through security in NZ, ie brought from airside, no limit applies (within baggage allowances).

How many bottles for ozfest (only from airside of course)?
Melbourne is only at Level 3a restrictions currently, so water is not as significant a problem for them as it is for us in Brisbane. So the Ozfest hosts might be more in need of the excellent NZ wines and beers than they are for water :p

... and a Fourth Cabin
