Haven't read this elsewhere (apologies if it is posted already), but according to routes online, QF is planning to run A330s between SYD and HNL from 14 SEP & 27 DEC. Be a nice upgrade from the 767 for those travelling, particularly in J.

The Qantas A330 offers customers travelling in Business an award-winning Skybed with in-seat video screens, two complimentary self-service bars, as well as an International Business service including Neil Perry-designed menus, inflight amenities and pyjamas.
Customers in Economy enjoy a comfortable seat with an enhanced adjustable winged headrest, contemporary menus and a continuous refreshment service.
The first quote actually sounds good and is a genuine improvement with lots to offer over the International J in the 767s.
The second quote is really struggling to find a differentiator!!
Does the entertainment offering go backwards?

I don't think so. I think the seat back IFE is at least as good as if not better than the iPad with Q-Streaming.
You can choose from over 200 hours of movies, television and radio programs. This is even greater choice than what is currently available on our International Boeing 747 and Airbus 330 aircraft.
QF website says Q-Streaming is better than the A330's
Oops .
The IPads are clumsy though. In the Dreamtime seat you cannot use the tray to eat and watch the iPad. It is either/or.
At least on the domestic configs you just hang the iPad up on the seat in front. Skybed Mk1 with the built in IFE is better from that point of view.

How much longer is Qantas going to be touting this "award winning Skybed" line?
Thomas Edison won awards for the light bulb, but you don't see 'Award winning light bulbs now $0.99' in the Woollies catalogue. The product is outdated.

It's aimed at the uninitiated
Maybe so however on the HNL to Aus route its actually the best equipment on offer, with recliners the best when in comes to alternatives.
