Well it is on Rex after all.Just thought i would throw in a light hearted look at paths less travelled-unlike that imposter drron who goes around the world with his TRs.The only OS in this one is Bass strait. So here we go.Rex BWT-MEL.And dont go thinking you will get this flight cheap. On special it is $150.
So the first thing you need flying Rex is a Rex jacket.I obtained my London fog one in LOTFAP very cheaply-
Doesn't look much but it has 4 large outside pockets and 6 inside pockets.Rex do enforce a 15Kg limit on checked bags and 7Kg on carry ons-which have always been weighed when i have used thyem.the jacket gives me another 5-7Kg including my computer adapters, camera charger etc.
The lovely fellow at checkin did offer me the exit row which would give an extra 2 inches of space but i had my 2 carryons so needed one on the floor. My legs just went around it-
Definitely no way to get a shot of my feet!Unfortunately we took off to the west so I was on the wrong side to get a view of Table Cape but good shots of the Tassie country side. The second shot shows the delightful Boat Harbour and past that the Rocky Cape NP.I reeccomend both-
Now you get a beautiful view of an engine when flying on Rex-
But you do get an inflight snack-
I got my kindle out of my jacket and the time went quickly.Soon we were flying over the desolate view of Victoria-we should send you some of our rain-
When landing at MEL you certainly feel small-
Reaching MEL I was able to repack my bag with all the extras for my next leg-an upgrade to JQ!
And on a serious note this was mid January when there were terrible fires in victoria's east.certainly obvious up in the air-
Well that's it but in less than 2 weeks that other terrible drron will be back to bore you with his African adventures.
