Hi,
I am someone who takes one or at most two airplane vacations a year in Economy. Thus I have little interest in lounge membership or any of the other benefits of the Silver and Gold membership - and I actually like the ads here, so wouldn't want to remove them. I am unlikely to upgrade my membership

But I do go to other places on the internet which have a Tip Jars, where people send money in appreciation of what the site has provided to them - and I have contributed there.

I have plenty to be appreciative about of the AFF site, and if there was a Tip Jar where one paid via PayPal, would certainly want to contribute, and possibly others here may also want to.

So, that's my suggestion - A Tip Jar.
Regards,
Renato.

Thank you for the suggestion, can you provide a link to the one or two sites that provide this in a way you would like to see implemented on AFF?

While our standard membership options are both recurring annually at $50 for Silver and $75 for Gold, we do also offer Silver membership trial on a monthly non-recurring rate for a taste of what membership can offer that could provide a lower entry point more similar to what some would consider a "tip". This costs just $6. You can find the different upgrades here.

Further to this, if any member has a subscription but would prefer to see ads (I work in this manner), I can set their account to see them again, despite their subscription.

Maybe you can click on a whole bunch of ads so that the site owner gets paid that way ;)

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

I'd be happy to click on ads but don't want to see ads everywhere.

Is this possible?

Hi,
Here is a local website with a Tip Jar on the top right hand side, where she asks for donations.
JoNova

My thoughts would be something like that Tip Jar coupled with something like,
"To express your appreciation of AFF, and contribute to its up-keep."
Regards,
Renato

I note that blog has no other revenue source, like a per-month or annual subscription as is set up here, but shall investigate other sites that offer similar schemes.

Thanks. I look at it as the annual subscription here is good for the Frequent Flyers.

But that you may not be getting any contribution from the Not-So-Frequent Flyers and the Infrequent Flyers, who none-the-less still enjoy the site, and may wish to make a contibution.
Regards,
Renato
