I was in BKK recently and used a Grab to get from my hotel to the Airport.

The owner/driver was a female in a new high-end Chinese car who was an excellent and safe driver. She gave me her card, and when I suggested I tell others, she agreed.

Her name is Kathi, and her local number is 061-271-1040 - so I guess +66 612711040.

She would appeal to more risk-averse travellers.

The driver was female, which is quite a rarity in BKK and Asia; she was an excellent driver with an immaculate and comfortable car.

I understand some members here prefer female drivers for whatever reason, and this is a referral.

I was probably editing while you were posting a response. Just trying to match the words with the intent. Maybe “safe female’ didn’t compute at the time. All good now. Thank you for posting about this. I get it now.

When we flrw out of BKK nearly 3 weeks ago we also had a female driver who drove at or under the speed limit and was very courteous as well. Driving in to the hotel from BKK we had a male driver who also drove the same way.

Ron, In contrast to my last trip to Seoul, I realised that Fangio had not died as reported, however relocated to Seoul and runs a taxi there. I think we got up to 160km/hr on the straight.............

We met him in NYC in the early 2000s. We were running late to meet our son's intended in laws as it was pouring rain so very few available taxis. We said we were in a bit of a hurry. Well did he hurry,, through a couple of red lights, on the horn at every pedestrian crossing but the best was overtaking using the footpath. I just shut my eyes. But the end apparently justifies the means as we arrived 5 minutes early.
