On QF website i see this

Status reassessment will occur:
30 Nov 2008
Status credits earned from 01 Dec 2006:
1,780
Additional Status credits required by 30 Nov 2007 to receive

complimentary 'Partner Gold' membership:
320

so to requalify as just platinum will those SC's disappear on Nov 30 2007?

That's correct.

You will see an entry on the activity page something like this:

Summary Page said:
30 Nov 07 EXPIRED STATUS CREDITS 31JUL07 - - - 0 -1,780
Bit of a shock first thing in the morning.

Obviously they will continue to count toward lifetime status.

Correct, your 1780 will dissappear on 1 December 2007 and the count will restart. As you have already reached the Platinum threshold, you have already requalified for next year. The next reassessment will be on 30 November 2008 or whenever you reach 1200 SC's (whichever is earlier).

Yes. What's showing is that you have already requalified as platinum, so that's been put out to Nov08. What's happening before then is you are trying to reach the 'next' status level of Partner Gold.

After 1200 sc's some frequent flyers will credit all flights to AA for the far better earn-burn ratio and much lower $$ surcharges on rewards

On a somewhat related note, does anyone know if its possible to "request" a reset to your status counter early?

Eg: Say I earned 1,400 SC's 9 months into my membership year, can I request they be reset to 0 and start earning from there for the next period?

I'm guessing not, although I've read other programs (CX?) allow it.

Just curious as I'm likely to earn well over 1,400 before my membership year is up, but probably fall just short of 2,100.

Thanks. :)

No. Your status reassessment date does not change.
