A perhaps futile attempt to support PER connections

I have forwarded the following to AA customer service.
While I have only a small hope for a response, at least I tried.:-|

Consider additional code shares please
Over the last few years I have flown from PER to NRT a number of times to connect with AA flights to the USA. Important in that connection has been the QF flights PER-SIN/HKG, even though those flights were purchases of separate tickets.
As QF has now discontinued BOTH those destinations from PER and AA has commenced flights DFW-HKG, please pass on my request to route planning that CX (and MH) flights into PER have AA code share numbers. Both of these airlines require fully flexible economy tickets for full credit to AA.
And no I do not wish to connect in SYD as I normally plan (at least) an overnight stop during the journey.

Assuming I get a non-computer generated response, I will post it when I receive it.

I have a couple of months to decide whether I want to earn QF WP this year. The advantage to me would be the soft landing for 2016 and continued OW lounge access.

The questions remain for PER
1 - Will the international lounge stay open for the JQ flights for QF elites and for OW partners' flights?
2 - Do I want to fly JQ PER-SIN?
3 - Where do I get the other 2 QF flights for the 4 ~?
4 - Will AA announce AKL-[USA] flights? And QF continue PER-AKL sporadically?

You can download the entire AA flight schedules with codes at http://www.trvlink.com/download/aa/AAschedules.pdf if you can not find an AA coded flight (metal or shared) on this table it does not exist, I can't see any ex Perth (to anywhere) or anywhere else in Australia to Asia.

As far as I know, there are no AA coded shared metal of any sort to Asia ex Australia, so you will not be getting a deep discount O class fare ex Australia to Asia coded AA to link up with Hong Kong or any other Asian city to then connect to the US with normal discount AA metal or code.

The next best thing would be linking up with SIN on BA coded flight where deep discount gives 100% AA miles (if it is possible from Perth)

Will your request be granted, I don't know. It really is an orphan sort of request on the massive scheme of things, sort of like making the AY metal HEL to TLL an AA coded flight (which it is by the way) but the AY metal flight HEL to VNO is not.

In the perfect world SYD-NRT for you and me should have an AA code possible on QF metal, but is doesn't. Personally I can't see you getting a meaningful response.

AA aren't bad in answering questions.Certainly in my experience better than QF.

My thoughts exactly, I have seen LAX-NRT-SIN and then add BA SIN-SYD rtt cheaper than the AA marketed fares LAX-SYD in fact 1800 US now compared to 2200 US on the direct AA coded LAX-SYD rtt QF metal flight at the moment

Here are the AA coded CX metal destinations from Hong Kong you will have to check the timetable for when the run
BKK, DPS, SGN, CGK, KUL, PEN
I have seen the LAX-DPS on special before for under 1000US, so maybe a cheap flight PER-DPS and then connect with this flight.
IMHO I think that you are probably better now flying PER-SYD stay at the cheapest airport hotels maybe 100 dollars with advanced bookings and then AA code QF metal to the States.

Think that the PER-SYD AA code share would come first before PER-AKL, I think that the OP should see if AA can make the PER-SYD a AA code share if he goes PER-SYD-LAX on QF metal, even staying at a hotel in SYD overnight still may make it worth his while if all of PER-LAX can be on AA code share. I think that it is a long shot getting AA code share to Asia ex AUS.

Think that the OP best bet is the following route, I didn't realise that AA had code share flights PER-SYD/MEL, probably could do a multicity to get a nights break in SYD/MEL, it would be the only option for discount economy fare getting 100% AA mileage credit

IN the spirit of getting flights from PER that credit reasonable amounts in Y to the AA program:

Given that BA is now offering code share flights on QR from Doha, I have asked BA customer service why BA does not have a code share on QR flights 900/901 DOH-PER.:mrgreen: I noted that it is no longer possible to connect with a One World flight to BA15/16 in SIN.

I expect an equally political reply (some day)

Given that BA is now offering code share flights on QR from Doha, I have asked BA customer service why BA does not have a code share on QR flights 900/901 DOH-PER.:mrgreen: I noted that it is no longer possible to connect with a One World flight to BA15/16 in SIN.

I expect an equally political reply (some day)

This could well happen in the near future.
AA have a code share now between AUH and CDG on Etihad to make the AA code from ORD-CDG-AUH so I can't see why your statement is not possible in the future
