A few status credits short

I've got six months to bag 140sc but nowhere to go. I've done green tier and have pcp. Any creative ideas, or do i just have to taste some ironically pointless flights? cheers.

Thanks. I'm starting in Perth. I rather foolishly took the earn number from an AI which as we all know stands for actual idiocy. Having done my own research with the qf calc i land at two sc short of wp. Much as i hate gero, looks like I'm going.

If you've got six months, you might get the new rollover rules, and if so may as well turn it into a meaningful trip somewhere you actually want to go...
Also, the calculator is known to be less than factual, suggest doing your own research but with the tables

There may be another DSC within 6 months, but plenty of time to plan a long weekend somewhere nice rather than a regional run with same day return.

What status level are you chasing?

For Platinum or higher for you it may be worth it to do a SC run ...

Thanks all. Chasing platinum. seldom fly on qf metal so i tend to tier up every few years when the opportunity presents. Yes the new rules look set to coincide with my anniversary in November, who knows what that brings. I'll arrive there at pcp and wp and will see what that means after!

I feel your pain regarding the earn on non-QF metal.
I've already done two return trips to France in business this year.
That should be enough to retain Platinum.
However discount business on MH only earns as economy flex, so I only earned 440 SCs from those flights.
Throw in 160 from domestic flights on QF metal, 200 from IB flights between France and Spain, 120 from DSC offers and 70 earned on the ground, and it leaves me 210 short with 2.5 months to go.

However the fares on flights from PER to CDG on QF metal are exorbitant
Having tried the PER-CDG direct flights, I am not going to continue paying a premium to avoid a stopover other people hate but I enjoy.
I don't want to pay a $4,000 to $7,000 premium just to spend 17 hours on a plane with no opportunity to walk around, have a shower, dine at a proper table with an extensive menu or indulge in some duty free shopping which is actually cheap (unlike Australian duty free stores).
Although I have become quite adept at using a few refresher towels to give myself a sponge bath in the aircraft toilet.
Especially when QF believes PAX only need two meals in 17 hours, and every single other PAX seems determined to undermine any attempt I make to adjust my body clock to French time. (Pro tip: do NOT try to fall asleep early. Switch your watch to Paris time, stay up until about 21h / 9:00 PM, and only then go to sleep to wake up between 5 and 6 for the 7h / 7:00 AM landing.)

I am not going to risk flying through the ME at the moment so that rules out EK/QF codeshares, QR, RJ and WY.
So apart from MH that only leaves CX or some combination including AY.
However AY's new non-reclining business seats are a big disincentive.
Hopefully Starlux will join OW soon and create another option.

However, I am fairly sure you can earn SCs on the ground now.
I think the promotion at the end of last year was turned into a permanent enhancement.
This seems to be poorly documented - the website still states in places that SCs can only be earned through flying.
However I rememer receiving a communication about it, and I know this to be true becauseand I just failed to earn the final 10 SCs from BP fuel required within the promotional period, but the SCs were credited upon my subsequent fuel purchase far outside the promo period.
This snapshot is from my progress email on the promo offer but it usefully states how many SCs are available in each category.
The total is 110 so just short of your target. But a quick return trip between most of the possible pairs from BNE SYD CBR MEL ADL HBA (and more) would easily fill any gap.

I will keep looking for the communication making the offer permanent but the strange people around me in this office have the quaint idea that AFF isn't a work-related activity. Don't they realise that I only survive the frequent trips they send me on to Europe because I have used AFF to learn how to never ever ever ever sit in economy (without sending the company bankrupt)?

We received a lot of valuable feedback from our members following the ‘Earn Status Credits on the Ground’ trial in 2025. We have taken this onboard to help provide even more ways for members to earn across categories. We will share more specific details on how this works closer to go live, later in 2026.

The only thing that doesn't explain is why I received the 10 SCs from BP Fuel when I failed to meet the target during the promo period.
Maybe the system thought the subsequent points were earned during the promo period but credited later.
Maybe it's Maybelline.

On the good side for the OP and others in their position, the maximum SC earn on the ground will be 140 instead of 110.

I believe that Fuel and Cars Status Credits on the ground earn was delayed in terms of being physically shown in your account due to a Qantas/BP promo that was running during that same period which counted towards the points earing total, however the recognition of the points earn took place in March, which is also when I officially received the 10 SC on the ground in the fuel and cars category.

You had to spend and earn the points by December 31 2025 but they had to physically land in your Qantas account by March 31 2026 to earn the SCs. I recall the above mentioned Qantas/BP promo took ages for the points to actually hit my QFF account (many others experienced the same scenario), which is why the SCs were only credited in March.
