A great story of a someone bumped to Y, but without waving the hands in the air and raving. And you're Infront of your mum.

Qantas haven't reached out to him to since the viral article. Should he get 500k points for the qantas viral story here?

But if it didn't really show qantas in their right light, would they use this?

Feel so bad for this fella. Finally get to ride up front and the seat is busted.
I don't know what kind of comp he deserves, but I would be sad. What a class act, though

Channel 7 news isn't a great source of news IMO

From another source, 2 days ago

"According to Mr Rehman, his employer was paid back, and Qantas gave him a $500 voucher."

Is there any J seats on this flight via the a330 that are consistently faulty?
It seems he was sitting in 1A.

He did get J on the way back. Was handled by the crew well.
Just saw it made the seven TV news as well.

Still think he should get a big wad of points to use from the media QF is getting.

Could be a recline malfunction or locking malfunction (not safe for takeoff or landing).
This.

Had this on a flight to DFW a few months ago. Was in 1A (yes, waving the entitlement flag :) ) and at check in advised it was inop, moved to 2A. Reason.. seat would not recline at all. On a 16 hour flight you want that.

Nobody took the seat (so a standby pax didn't take it knowing it wouldn't recline) so I couldn't really complain - because Iwas able to recline and get (some) sleep ...

SYD-HNL-SYD are 9-10 hour sectors - you want recline.

On an upcoming SYD-HNL I'm now scared to try snag 1A/1K in T80. If it fails and I do a TikTok it will be a similar story so I'm not sure I will get the same fame fair. I probably would not be not as chilled and lovable in my video.

The guy in the video took it so well. Great attitude, it makes sense he made the 1% top sales. Good on him.

Can't speak for J but I was in a relatively empty PE cabin for AKL>SYD QF4. My allocated window PE seat wouldn't stay upright, so I jumped into the empty aisle seat next to me, this did the same which didn't help during take-off (the girls behind me made a point of it to each other).

After take off I explained the problem to them but they didn't empathise in anyway. I told the CSM who was caught off guard as a response to that is not on their scripted WP welcome ...and ended up in the PE seat on the other side of the aisle which seemed to work.

EDIT: Whoops just realised you wanted A330...my flight was a weary looking 787.

Interesting to see what shapes up with the A330's J seats with the announced refurb. I hope they at least get a deep clean, install new seat materials and replace all mechanical parts.

A 787 version of the seat (with the lowering of the middle partition) or best a newer concept to align more with the upcoming A350's would be great, but that will be asking for a unicorn.
