A British vacation (but I'm also going to Japan)

Sadly the menu hadn't improved....
Western option was steak again! I was so not ordering that. Japanese main was Sukiyaki, I don't like it either(in general), sigh...😢

Apologies, only took pic of this one page...

Both options had the same amuse.

Japanese entree was very good.

And the sukiyaki, sigh.

At least it was better than the steak!

From their anytime menu.

Entertainment, I'm afraid I can't comment on the English language contents....I only watched Japanese films and tv shows.
The screen was great though - big, and high resolution.

We went east which added about 2 hours to the journey.

Loved the onboard camera!

14 hours actually didn't feel very long at all.
This is probably the highest praise I can give.

So we landed at LHR T2 about 4.20pm local time.
Immigration was so fast you could blink and missed it, unlike some horror stories I heard beforehand.

Took the Heathrow Express, yes I knew it only goes to Paddington. But with mother in tow we'll need a taxi to hotel either way, might as well go for the fastest one. Plus I booked their early bird ticket + rail card discount, ended up paying £13.3 for two one way, which was quite the bargin.

I remember within last year we had at least two threads discussing the "flying J/F but sleeping in cheap hotels" thingy, well guess what, that's me! 🤣

Booked Hub by Premier Inn Covent Garden for the location, and price!
Yes I knew what the rooms were like beforehand.
You only really need this one picture to see it all!

One more pic, so there's this little slide out desk and chair.
Luggage goes under the bed. Plenty of space for my suitcase. And the drawer for your bags.

Okay there's also the bathroom.

Don't worry, mother had her own room.
I'm not THAT crazy!

Went for a walk, had dinner at Blacklock. Oh boy, that was a mistake....mother hated it 😣
I was only thinking about her low carb diet, but forgot that that she hates steak in general......
Quickly cancelled another reservation for Flat Iron!

Went to Trafalgar Square for a stroll....

Back to hotel about 10pm....time to sleep and hopefully we didn't have the jetlag too bad.

**Whole day in the museum was too much for mother.
So we split up after lunch, I went to check out more things....not sure what she did 🤣

We had lunch at the Great Court Restaurant.

My sea bass.

Nice recovery from the disaster dinner the day before, phew!
