Ha I've already booked Wedgwood.

First time using Smart EX to buy Shinkansen tickets, it is great!
Loaded them straight onto ic cards to enter station. So much better....

Great news! We made it home, in one piece mostly...

Bad news, my computer died....So the TR will be postponed, till I get a new one!
My old one was a Dell Optiflex or something, the mini desktop. It worked quite well for me, any suggestions?

I want to like and sad so I'll just say no idea for computers

Depends on your needs - which doesn't help I suppose. Laptops have come down a lot in price - I have an Acer laptop with a docking station so I can use a normal monitor, keyboard, mouse at home. MIni PC's have come down a lot in price., and there are a lot out there. Online stores such as Kogan, GKKTec have good offers.

Decided on a Geekom, we'll see how that works.
I don't really have space for a laptop since I have external keyboard and two monitors....

Obviously we start from MEL.
PXL_20251014_053808604.MP.jpg

Technically the MEL - SYD tickets were a gift from ANA.
Don't ask, I'm not sure how it works either! But it was Y 😒
So I got me and mother in the lounge via AMEX.

Landed at SYD ontime, actually, about 10 mins early!
Took the TBus to International.
Was advised we should use the Air NZ lounge - Silver Kris was already closed 😮 Do they not have flights later??

Food was, well slightly better than the Virgin lounge.
There was exactly one hot dish excluding the rice, so it disappeared in mins after being brough out...

At the gate there were some issues with mother's UK Visa....so we were stuck for quite a bit and missed the J boarding...
When we got to our seats J was full.

I was feeling quite exposed....not a fan of the seat I'm afraid.
A wrap around headboard would do wonders here...

Amenity bag, pretty basic.
PXL_20251014_115629423.jpg

* But the shopping bag turned out to be very useful during the trip ha ha.

Food was ....not great...
There's a Japanese option, a western option, that's it. I'm not fan of grilled Salmon so went with the western meal.
Errr
PXL_20251014_120854222.jpg

That steak was....🥲
PXL_20251014_120841714.PORTRAIT.jpg

I had ramen later.
PXL_20251014_175157634.jpg

And a light meal was served before landing.
PXL_20251014_180710109.MP.jpg

This was def below SQ, CX or CI I'm afraid.

** Mother had the Japanese meal and she liked it.

Landed at HND about 5.30am local time.

Shower first.

Did ANA hire some intern to do the interior design? If you can call it that...maybe they didn't...
I mean, I can line rows and rows of chairs up....it doesn't require any skills.
PXL_20251014_210334091.jpg

Japanese people are normally quite good with this....I am so confused.
PXL_20251014_210451325.MP.jpg

At the far cornor there were some seating with privacy. So we parked ourselves there.
PXL_20251014_210523596.jpg

Now I realised I didn't take any picture of the food! Must be too shocked by this lounge.
But yeah, some basic Japanese breakfast thingy, and ramen.

Finally we are getting to the good thing, The Room!!
PXL_20251015_011656608.jpg

So wide it can probably fit two.
PXL_20251015_012347274.jpg

The window seat.
PXL_20251015_012357352.jpg

When you close the doors...
The gap is a bit strange, but you need it to push the door back.

I declare this to be my No.1 😍
