Received an invitation from Qantas to view the new 787 at CBR from 12-1 on 30 November.

Anyone else get this?

I accepted and hop not to be travelling that day,

No. But I've never been invited to anything by Qantas in several years as a P1, so why break with tradition.

Nope
I'll be home from holiday by then, but it's a Thursday, so I'll be at work.

No, no invitation but then again I haven't been invited to anything much in the past few years.

This is on tomorrow and I can actually make it so we'll see what it's all about

So, I have to eat my words as I did (many days later) receive an invitation as a P1 last week. Had to hold off responding as it looked right up until yesterday that I'd be travelling. Finally realised I'd be in CBR so clicked yes this morning only to find it was too late. Oh well - my fault - should probably have accepted straight away too.

Is it just me or is there something lacking in the "interests" you can put in your profile? I do not see "aviation" anywhere??

Agree. Suppose they consider it too much of a sub /niche interest group.

It annoys me you can only pick 3.. I mean why can't I be interested in music, sports, eating, travel and other stuff too?

Moral of story... accept.. you can always cancel later (though I understand not wanting to possibly take a spot you can't use if it would deny someone else). tough call. Sorry you couldn't take up a rare offer!

No judgment on others, but didn't feel right given invitation said spaces are limited. That said, I clearly only got the offer after others had declined or take-up was low, so I shouldn't have felt bad.

As it turns out, the hour or so away from work would have been a bit of a luxury and placed others in a tough spot, so probably for the best.

Keen to see feedback from the event though.
