According to a colleague in the know this will be the last year for the 787 which will be replaced with an all New Aircraft that will sit between the 737 and the 777X but with longer range and lower fuel consumption and operating costs than the Airbus A321 XLR.
The New Aircraft, believed to be the 797 Superbird has been discussed with all the major airlines and has been developed with there needs in mind and considering the new world market after Covid.
Boeing has realised that the days of the larger widebodies are limited with single Aisle being the preference going forward. Whilst a Launch customer has been secured with a commitment for 260 aircraft those details are not public knowledge as of yet.
Production of the troubled 787 Dreamliner will begin to wind down at the end of the year.
Sources close to the project are clearly excited by this true Game Changer of an aircraft and business model.
Boeings 737 and 787 have undergone incredible scrutiny after two fatal accidents of the Max Variant of the 737 and a large number of issues a round manufacturing and production problems with its 787 across both of its manufacturing plants.
So the Question is would you fly Ultra Long Haul routes on a single aisle aircraft or are you in favor of the larger Twin Aisle variants in the market?
