I'm booked on LA800 SYD to SCL in J next January 2025 - seat map is showing the old 2-2-2 layout.

I know it's a long way away but I was wondering if LATAM tends to stick to their plans or I would stand a chance to switch equipment to the new 1-2-1 layout?

Also I reserved 1A 1C (travelling with my partner) - are these good seats or would you recommend sitting elsewhere in the 2-2-2 layout J cabin?

just travel on 25th Dec, it is old style, 1A 1C is good pick, clearly less your own space at any seats in 2-2-2

LATAM is notorious for changing aircraft types/configs even at the last minute. Who knows what you'll actually get, so I'd just book the date you want

And sometimes it works in your favour, when you check the seat map 72 hours out and there’s a new config.

flying direct MEL-SCL in late Aug similar 2 2 2 - my logic is picking by the 2 center seats you will be in the 2 center seats if it changes to a 1 2 1 ( but I know the seat numbers change) so lets see a few days out - whoa who!
remember to select where to credit (to the best of my knowledge) Qantas give ZERO status points if you booked a Latam ticket
