I'm booked on LA800 SYD to SCL in J next January 2025 - seat map is showing the old 2-2-2 layout.

I know it's a long way away but I was wondering if LATAM tends to stick to their plans or I would stand a chance to switch equipment to the new 1-2-1 layout?

Also I reserved 1A 1C (travelling with my partner) - are these good seats or would you recommend sitting elsewhere in the 2-2-2 layout J cabin?

just travel on 25th Dec, it is old style, 1A 1C is good pick, clearly less your own space at any seats in 2-2-2

LATAM is notorious for changing aircraft types/configs even at the last minute. Who knows what you'll actually get, so I'd just book the date you want :)

And sometimes it works in your favour, when you check the seat map 72 hours out and there’s a new config.

flying direct MEL-SCL in late Aug similar 2 2 2 - my logic is picking by the 2 center seats you will be in the 2 center seats if it changes to a 1 2 1 ( but I know the seat numbers change) so lets see a few days out - whoa who!
remember to select where to credit (to the best of my knowledge) Qantas give ZERO status points if you booked a Latam ticket :(
