wondering if anyone has an opinion on the above?

777-200 looks like a 1-2-1 whereas the 777-300 is a 2-2-2, hence about double the # of seats in J.

cheers

The refurbished 200 and 300 series have the angled flat regional product in a 2-2-2 configuration. The 200ERs are being refurbished with the (now superseded) long haul product in a 1-2-1 configuration. Go for 1-2-1 if you can.

200 non ERs are still 2-2-2 aren't they ?

Refurbished are 2-2-2 angle flat. Non-refurbished are 2-3-2 recliners.

Just did the 1 2 1 config in the 200er to Rome, very similar seat to the A380 and I slept well, you made the right choice.

I'm looking at the 1-2-1 772 from SIN to any of AMS, CPH, FCO or IST

I can find availability for some of the dates I want (July 14) but everytime I put quantity 2 in the search on expert flyer theres none available.

Surely this can't mean there is only 1 seat available on the all the flights that come up with a YES on expertflyer.

Does singapore airlines only release awards one seat at a time or what?

There are plenty of times I've booked 2,3,4 J redemptions on flights. They might have a yield strategy on the new layouts until closer to travel date.

I've been looking at travel around Easter next year, I look about four weeks ago and was disappointed, now today, seems I can get the two J tix I want.

One method I've used is to book as two single J tix.

Which program do you want to access awards through? Krisflyer or other program? When the 777-200ER were in the old config (May) we were only able to access 1 seat on IST-SIN using NZ points, had to use KF miles to get a second seat. It's only a matter of time before UA/NZ/US/NH etc will no longer access these inventory, like the restricted 77W/388 inventory, although LH and Avianca Lifemiles seem to have good access to the 77W/388 flights. Krisflyer availability is completely independent to star alliance program inventory.

Yes i was thinking of booking one at a time and then waiting for another ticket on the same flight to come up.

This could be high risk tho if nothing comes up, i'm sure the wife wouldn't be happy.

I'm using USDM btw if that makes a difference

Ok, yes it is likely SQ seem to only drip feed one at a time. Lucky that there are any to USDM with the new configuration!

just thought i'd let you all know i managed to get 2x tickets on SQ352 and its the refitted 1-2-1 config (booked via USDM)

1-2-1 is fully flat, 2-2-2 is angled-flat.

It's a no brainer!

But it's an angled fully flat seat in a different way as in you have to twist your body in a peculiar manner when sleeping and as a seat it's very wide but not supportive. I've never liked it much as it's also damn hard. Fortunately SQ are getting rid of them in the long term. As always YMMV

Not if you get row 11 in the 300ER... well that's what I'm lead to believe!

You are less restricted in row 11 as the footbay is full width, same in the row 14/15 bulkheads. Row 11 generally reserved for PPS members, row 14 bulkead very noisy. (galley, toilets)
