For a 70th b'day I am taking my m/inlaw to Rome to see the Pope etc. A very special gift to her.
I would appreciate any suggestions for maximising the use of my earn only points & taxes. I have Kris:350k/QFF:750k. My Location:Cns
Would like to visit ZRH to see friends (no b/saver all the way = 110500) for 4 nights & then FCO for 6 nights. Maybe SQ o/way & Q o/way.
Prefer: Business saver / first saver
Time: late May/June or Sept
I’m thinking : SQ Bne – FRA so we can enjoy some first saver 87125 points and take the train to ZRH
FCO – BNE atm doesn’t look too good with QFF maybe req's a tricky rtn route. Will have to call them. Otherwise will try SQ for home. Would love to gain SC points but at the end of the day I don’t travel alot, 1 J o/seas if I’m lucky per year & a little domestic. If anyone has any suggestion I would be happy to hear from you. Happy New Year to all & wish everyone a great 2011 filled with lots of flying:p

Update: rang QF and seems they couldn't get me there or back ! Will have to aim at Kris.

If you could find availability, I would fly CX from CNS-HKG-FCO
Then I would fly SQ from ZRH-SIN-BNE or SIN-CNS on JQ!

tks Browski, think I will try searching the legs separately and see if I have better luck.
I thought also Cns-Sin *class and Cns-Hkg. I was trying to arrive ZRH first and return from FCO. Might try reverse & see if that proves better.

Here are a few other things to consider....

1. CNS-SIN on JetStar is actually not so good because Star Class is not offered and the flight is via DRW.
2. SYD-BKK on QF or TG (plenty of availability in J/F in Sept)
BKK-ZRH one way on TG or LX. KrisFlyer One-way awards are available for these carriers. Both Swiss Air and Thai have F and J availability.
3. Consider flying into PER from SIN/HKG on the inbound leg.
4. Plenty of J and F awards on FCO-BKK legs on TG

Is it intended to be a return journey?

Hello Sprucegoose, sorry for the delay in response. We've had so much rain in the FNQ that it killed my internet..

I was hoping to fly to ZRH (otherwise FRA) and depart from FCO back to Aus.

Finding it very difficult in may/june to get seats with QF all the way. Will look as browski suggests Q into Bangkok & TG Bangkok to Zrh.

My preference is late May to leave Aus for approx 10 days & to get the best value out of my points. Hence business saver with Kris one way and the best value with QF one way.
cheers
