Less than an hour after landing I walked into the AA Flagship lounge ... decided to head here first and let the hordes heading to JFK clear out.

As usual - hardly anyone in the lounge

This lounge can't be beat for views

Around 9am I walked over to QF Flounge

Nice lounge. Had no issue entering on an AA LAX-LAS flight

I'll be back here in a couple of days

AA1203 LAX-LAS uneventful until we tried to land. We ended up having to do a go-around ... the pilot made it very clear it was due to an ATC error.

Bellagio, the biggest check-in queue I've seen! They had about 20 agents on duty, and it still took around 20min

I first visited Vegas 1996 - hated it!

Didn't gamble, and didn't have a clue what the place was about. Fast forward 20 years, and I've now clocked up my 5th stay... I still don't gamble!

All but the first trip have been business related. These business trips have educated me on what Vegas offers - a) Shopping b) Food c) Entertainment. If you like any of those things - put it on the list!

Leave the gambling to the professionals, and addicted.

Day show...

Recommend Noodles (Bellagio) for a quick, no fuss meal.

ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1468117156.303439.jpg

Recommend Mon Ami Gabi (Paris) for the best of the worst breakfast that I've found. However, it does have the best view.

Recommend MESA Grill (Caesars) for a taste induced "meat" delight.

I'm not that keen on bananas and dessert however, the eyes saw what the tastebuds didn't detect.

Great report! Did you ask about any (off menu) "plate of the day" on QF11? There was a mention about it in another thread...

I went for the first time last year and was very underwhelmed - it was hot and walking through smokers to get to your room didn't inspire me - don't think I'll go back

The few times I have been I have stayed at the Trump -- no Casino and no smoking, but still on the strip -- makes a big difference!

AA145 LAS-LAX

Early start today ... the FA tried his best to top up anyone that needed it! He got a couple of takers and served JD for a pre/take off delight... not a bad effort for 5.30am

The flatware helps to position QF away from the bling of other carriers' F hard product. It's going for a modern aesthetic that equates luxury with understated minimalism. It's not for everyone but there's a respect and an integrity to these products that is quite pleasing.

AA 1564 DFW-EWR

Service went tech, had something like 5 gate/terminal changes, and ended up 1:40 delayed.

Had the opportunity to knock off a few sites I've not managed to fit in from previously visits.

9/11 Museum

I booked the early morning (pre-open) guided tour - highly recommend this as you get an hour before the doors open to the public.

A guided tour is essential IMO... the passion the young lady spoke with made the visit even more memorable.

The tour went for an hour + and you can re-visit any section when it's over.

Original Slurry Wall - if this collapsed the Hudson could/would have flooded the site, and the subway system.

A different coloured blue tile for every victim ... blue represents the colour of the sky on the day of the attack.

Very well organised and presented Museum - impressive!

Thanks Amaroo for sharing those photos of the 9/11 memorial, a truely goosebumps moment, even now it brings back memories and emotions we all felt that day.
