They should have made it 45k points. That's one way business class trip to South East Asia then I might actually look at getting this card.
 
Holy dooley - when I applied for this card with a similar promo a couple of years back, it was 50,000 points with the base $4000 spend (along with instant Star Alliance Gold). Now they want the (admittedly reduced) threshold of $48,000 to net the full amount.

It is the same setup as the Krisflyer offer.

Chances are that the whole RBA interchange fee ban is making all these offers less "appealing".

The question becomes: which is better, 50000 Krisflyer points or 50000 Aeroplan points (and their respective Gold status) .....
 
Is there a point calculator for Aeroplan?
I'm trying to workout the points between Aeroplan and Kris flyer in J before pulling the trigger.

Krisflyer is 128k on SQ but Aeroplan is 460-480k ? Without looking at air india 110k
