Hi, I currently have about 500,000 points to use by Dec 2013 when they start expiring. I will have up to another 100,000 points by March.

I have been trying to plan a trip for my family of four where we can use these. It seems nearly impossible to work out.

My probblem is working out seats on other airlines part of star alliance that go where SIA does not fly.

Places of interest -
Melbourne to:
Quito -Equador - even if we can get one way. I cannot work out how to book FF on other airlines. United and Copa travel there.
or

Nairobi Kenya - return
I can work out Melb to Dubai then buy seats from there to Nairobi for about $500 each rtn. Again booking award flights not on SIA for the full distance is a nightmare to work out. Egypt air goes DXB to NBO.

If I look at anything closer of lessor interest such as Mynamar (Burma) or India/ Sri Lanka what are the chances of getting 4 seats in Business at least for one way?

Is there an easy way to search star alliance for award seats?
Dont tell me ANA - it is just a royal pain the butt with no flights showing when i search anything for any time period.

All help appreciated.

Fantastic! Both great - especially Aeroplan - found award flights for what i need. So how does one go about booking these flights with Krisflyer points???

The only way is to call KF Services on 02 9350 0203.
This is the SIN call centre, if you don't enter your KF number when asked,
you will be put through to the India call centre.
