Just a reminder to everyone that based on past experiences, if you cancel a flight, receive a voucher and use said voucher (which will keep the same Amadeus ref) then it wont qualify as a new booking. It needs to be a completely new Amadeus ref.

Wonder how Qantas is going to treat gift vouchers purchased in December and partially used and re-issued throughout the year.

Technically it is still a new booking.

Re: Earn 50% more Status credits on Qantas

I got this offer yesterday as a NB. Thought it might have been a beginners version of the DSC offer you all talk about to try push me to silver. Putty it doesn't work for current bookings as tonight's and tomorrow's flights along with an as yet un booked work trip to Melbourne next month would take me to PS. Not sure if it is worth the effort or the points to go to silver as a bronze qp member. Need aprox 90 sc on top of current bookings so would be a few flights.

Re: Earn 50% more Status credits on Qantas

I got this offer too. Currently WP till October 2014 but would like to try and do a few sc runs to ensure at least gold status for 2015 as not of sure if it is a guaranteed soft fall from plat to gold Can anyone enlighten me on that. I will definitely meet the 4 flight segments required and would prefer not to spend what I don't have too chasing status

Soft fall from Platinum to Gold as long as you do your 4 QF/JQ flights.

I got it too.
I am 200SC short of requalifying
I am in Melbourne.
What is the considered opinion of best value to get the 200SC ?
Mine is for DOMESTIC travel
Thanks

Re: Earn 50% more Status credits on Qantas

For those without bookings, QF just started a very nice Australia wide sale with fares eligible for this SC offer.

Hi John, I booked my flight to BNE last month under a DSC offer using a partially unused gift voucher but the DSC did not automatically post. I called QF and they credited it there and then. I'd think it'll be the same for this 50% promotion?

Exactly what happened with me when using vouchers earlier this year during a DSC. As long as it was a new flight rather than from a cancelled flight.

Re: Earn 50% more Status credits on Qantas

Am I the only one to not get this offer?

It's a targeted thing, with nearly 10 million members we don't all receive the same offers. I'd rather a true DSC anyway ;)

Echoing others, a gift voucher will need to be chased up but is eligible, however cancelling a flight into a voucher and rebooking isn't.

I have done this in the past as well.

Though it would be nice for the bonus SCs to post automatically.

Very targeted - SWMBO and I have virtually identical travel, both WP but different anniversary dates - she got it and I didn't.

Nothing here either. Pity, I'd love the chance to be anything but NB.

I suspect WP will be the right level for you Blackcat20 ;)

(Depending on your view of the F lounge of course) ;)
